Pros: Wonderfully kid friendly, economically priced, ideally located Cons: Nighttime parking is tough, not enough elevators
I cannot say enough about the Holiday Inn Family Suites Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. This resort is literally minutes away from the main gates of Disney and is well worth the tiny travel time.
You can take small kids up for a nap cause the rooms are so close.
Cons: A bit expensive. Extra fees show up on final bill.
Booking the room was simple with there user friendly website. We went in September of 2008. So the rates were rock bottom prices. About $125 a night for a two bedroom. This room is usually $200 or s o a night. They do tack on lots of fees, which total ...
Pros: Kid friendly. Lots of space for the dollar. Cons: Food offerings. Better activity offerings for the little tykes.
This is a unique Holiday Inn, in that it's still the only one of it's type. I believe there's one other in the works, but I'm not sure. It caters to families with it's multiple suite configurations, but it will work for business travellers also. My ...
Pros: Front desk staff helpful and courteous. The hotel is in a good position for Disney Cons: Rooms were grubby, in need of a makeover. Food quality was poor lukewarm at best.
After reading many positive reviews,I changed my original choice (Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa)for the Holiday Inn Family Suites. (Big mistake I should have trusted my initial instincts).
On arrival the front of the hotel looks great, on the...
Pros: This hotel offers suites that have everything in mind Cons: The hotel is obviously packed - plenty of people around.
I fell in love with this hotel the moment we checked in when they offered a special desk for children to check in. At this point, the children are given a bag with crayons, a coloring book, and tokens for the game room. When we got to our room, my...
Pros: Buffet breakfast included, extra room for kids included in suite. Cons: Crowded
After reading the other reviews I felt that I had to add a review. This hotel is really unique and I would go back in a minute. One reviewer did write that the food at the breakfast buffet was not hot and that the rooms were run down. I have to say ...
Pros: Train theme is fun, pizza hut on site, small "grocery store" on site Cons: SMALL rooms, pricey "all you can eat" meals, unsatisfied with Disney shuttle times/frequency.
Hotel was PACKED, kids everywhere. They offered rather lame nighttime activities (geared more toward older children, not my 4 and 2 yr old), but a great kiddie train ride around the hotel. I'm not really sure what the hours were for the train ride as I ...
Pros: Exciting theme, kids shows & activities Cons: 1-2 Star service at 4 star price.
Great concept, poor execution. My family stayed in a 2 bd room Dora suite in Oct 07 and we were disappointed: In real estate, a room has to have door to be called a bedroom-- not in hotels, I guess. Better room description is 1 bedroom 2 closet. Nice ...
Pros: Great Pool!! Big Buffet breakfast!! family sized, suites with a theme for kids! Cons: Long walk to room from restaurant and lobby, Need to get up early for breakfast
I stayed in the Holiday Inn Family Suites last September. The whole hotel is based on a railroad theme. My daughter and myself had a very enjoyable stay there. The highlight was the pool, with the zero depth walk in and water activities for the kids....
Pros: Close to Seaworld and Disney. Cons: Rooms are not that great and the restaurants are too small.
I know that this place has lots of awards, but I am not sure why. There are SO many great hotels in Orlando and I don't think this is one of them. First, the check in took forever! We were arriving on a Friday night and they had only 1 person checking...
Good Family Accommodations Near Disney by dillyjmc ,Aug 27 '04
Pros: Extra Space without high cost Cons: No shuttle to Disney. $7 a day to park at Disney.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Family Suites in April, 2004. We have stayed at several Disney and Downtown Disney hotels in the past, and would definitely opt for Holiday Inn over the Disney All Star Resorts.
We had a two bedroom suite and it was great to have the extra space. The room was well laid out and nicely furnished. Breakfast was included and though chaotic, it was convenient and saved us alot of money.
The main lobby, restaurant, and concession areas of the hotel are always busy, noisy, and chaotic. Nonetheless, it is handy to have pizza hut, burgers, ice cream, and a restaurant to choose from. Also, a 7-11 type shop.
The pools were great. They had a huge wading pool for kids with fountains and music playing all day. There was another adult pool on the other side. I would imagine rooms near the pool are noisy as the pools are opened late.
