Pros: Beautiful and sleek. Durable. Brews coffee fast. Machine keeps coffee warm without scalding it. Cons: None
Coffee percolator pots were in every American household until the advent of the drip coffee maker, also referred to as a dripolator, which came out in 1972 under the name of Mr. Coffee. Granted in 1972 I was but a mere child and did not ...
Pros: Easy operation and clean up. Great for different amounts and tastes. Cons: No timer to start brewing. Still get some grounds in coffee.
Coffee is one thing that my Wife will not do without in the morning. I, on the other hand have found that the more I stay away from caffeine the better so I seldom drink coffee at all. The reduced need to large amounts of coffee and the bad experience ...
Pros: Easy to clean, store and use. Will brew a lifetime of strong coffee, quickly. Cons: Too hot!
Intro If you are like me, you are serious about your coffee the way Marylanders are serious about their crab cakes, or say Wisconsinites are about their cheese curds. Lucky for us rabid caffeine addicts, there is certainly no paucity when it ...
Pros: 7-9min brewing time; well made; easy cleanup; GREAT perk flavor Cons: No brewing adjustment or 'ON' light
We've had our Farberware/Salton Fastbrew Perculator (FCP280) for about 6mo now and have been very happy with it. The biggest plus, aside from the flavor, has been the super-fast 7-9min brewing time--almost the same as an autodrip but with much better ...
Pros: Brews great coffee, and cleans up easily. Cons: Country of origin-China
I recently reviewed Farberware's 4 cup percolator, but since it was a 1950-60's vintage model, I thought it would be fair and honest to also review the newer made in China percolators. And since I had decided the 4 cup percolator wasn't big enough for ...
I used to think that Percolator coffee was for older people only because I remember my grandmother always had one!!!!!!!! I know now that was a wrong way of looking at this...What do you expect from a child that grows up and is still a child and...
Pros: Great coffee, Comes out nice and hot, cool touch handle and base Cons: Not immersible, You must buy percolator blend coffee
If you are anything like me, you will know that there is nothing better than a nice hot cup of coffee on a cold winter morning. Well, with the Farberware percolator, I can do just that. First of all, once you start drinking perc coffee, auto drip never ...
Pros: Durable, cool-touch handle, easy to use/clean, long cord, great coffee Cons: No on/off switch -- gotta yank the plug from either end.
I've used both this version (for myself) and its 12-cup big sister (for groups) for years without problem or mishap. The smaller version -- the FCP280 -- is perfect for the single coffee drinker; it can make for two if neither are power drinkers, but ...

Pros: great tasting coffee Cons: durability, pricey
This is my preferred coffee maker. I find that it makes a fantastic cup of coffee. Benefits include: ease of use, a sturdy housing construction, and most importantly --great tasting coffee. I find that it is important to use as cold of water as...
Pros: Great....makes perfect coffee everytime!! Cons: I should have bought the 12 cup!!
I have purchased a Farberware Percolator because I was tired of my "Mr. Coffee" type coffee maker and the horrible tasting coffee it was producing. My mother has a Farberware percolator that she has had for years and it is still working. Several of my...
For great tasting coffee unplug it after the first cycle. by justsayit ,Jun 26 '09
Pros: Portable & space saving. No glass parts to break. Coffee grind basket filters well. Cons: Entire percolator cannot be submersed in water. Most percolator plastics become brittle with age.
This percolator makes great tea or coffee. Simply toss in a few tea bags & wait. I used canned coffee with no annoying paper filter. The coffee grind basket didn't allow as many coffee grinds to pass though like some older percolators. Its high wattage heats the coffee faster than a few older percolators. There is no hollow glass bubble in the lid to leak, wash or break. For the best tasting percolated coffee simply listen for it to stop & unplug the percolator when it completes its cycle. Using any percolator to keep coffee hot will reduce the life of the heating element, waste electricity & make the coffee taste too strong unless the grinds are removed.
Last week I forgot to put water in my coffee maker.
After a couple minutes I smelled an odor of something burning and realized I didn't put the water in.
I tried it again with water and it worked. But the odor
was still in the brew. So I tossed it. It was favorite
coffee maker of all times. Great coffee and reliable.
Now I need another, and they're not that easy to find.
In any event I'm sure I find one somewhere, if not, I'll go online.
Pros: makes the best coffee and does it quickly as well Cons: needs to be cleaned frequently with dippit or it will make you tea strength coffee
i love the coffee it makes. it is hotter than the drip pots. i have been using them for years.my only c/o is they have not lasted mor than a year lately. when i called the manufacturer they said you have to clean the new pots at least monthly. they get an invisible residue inside that effects the sensor and it doesn't perk long enough, hence weak coffee.they paid for shipping and sent me new pots. will try this new method. i said i would recommend it to a friend but with reservations and would talk about the longevity issue
Pros: It's hot, but that's about it. Cons: Bad taste, bad smell, something just isn't right.
My husband and I both grew up in Farberware percolator families, an unusual thing in itself. They used to last years, but after Salton (I believe) bought them the quality of the coffeepot went way down. Two years seems to be the most a heating unit will last if used daily.
We used a VillaWare for two years until it's heating unit went out, right on schedule. We decided to try a Farberware again, hoping the new company had figured it out. This time the coffee just tastes terrible. I thought it was me until I said "uncle" and got a GE percolator at WalMart. Great tasting coffee, no funky aftertaste, and hot. We'll see how long it lasts, but at least it was cheaper and my coffee has improved 100%.
