  • Feline Pine - Playful pellets

    Aug 19, 2004 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Absorbs odors.
Cons: One cat wouldn't use it and the other played with the pellets.

Summary: After hearing many great things about Feline Pine, we decided to give it a try and picked up a bag. The first thing you notice is the look. It is basically small pine pellets, instead of your standard scoopable, which looks like sand. The ... read more

  • Amazing litter if you're willing to work more

    Jul 8, 2011 by
    Not yet rated.
Pros: Very clean, low smell, healthier (clay dust = not good), attractive look when kept clean.
Cons: Work-intensive, takes some time for cats to adjust to new litter type.

Summary: Feline Pine is compressed pine litter pellets that degrade into a sawdust-like material when absorbing cat urine. It's MUCH nicer-smelling than traditional clay litter, but it requires more work to keep it clean and nice.I have four male neutered ... read more

Cons: Doesn't work for all cats

Pros: Feline Pine is highly absorbent, eliminates cat odors, and is chemical free. Cats love it!
    Cons: None

Summary:   My daughter had asked me to take care of her cat and I felt I needed a back up plan if the cat was unable to go outside.  I HATE everything about CAT LITTER.  This product was recommended to me at a pet supply store.  Feline ... read more

  • I think Feline Pine is great, but I'm not the one using it.

    May 17, 2009 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: Easy to clean up, smells okay, boxes stay fresh, no dust, affordable.
Cons: Some cats won't use it.

Summary: We'd used clay litter for years, and finally couldn't take the dust and the clay smell anymore.  We upgraded to a more expensive litter, and cross-tapered the pine pellets with the clay, and as there got to be more pellets than clay, some of the ... read more

    Oct 20, 2008 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
    Pros: - environmentally friendly
    - cat likes it
Cons: - stinks up the whole house

Summary: I recently (as in yesterday) took in a foster cat. They use this Feline Pine litter at the cat shelter and swear, like most reviewers here, that it is the best thing ever. They started me off with a small bag of pellets and I'm ready to throw out what I ... read more

    May 26, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Natural, clean smell, no tracking, happy kitty
    Cons: Expensive, requires some stirring

Summary: Since many of the reviews of this litter are negative, I thought I'd add my $.02 that is very positive! We switched to Feline Pine traditional pellet litter a few months ago. The change was easy; we followed the instructions by adding the Feline Pine ... read more

  • My Litter Forever

    May 5, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Healthy, Natural, economical, 100% odor control
Cons: tracking of sawdust when used without Feline Pine's litter box

Summary: I'm not a professional cat litter examiner first off, but I have 5 cats, and have had my 5 cats for 5-6 years. We used the ordinary rock\clay\little blue stones\chalky\perfumed litter for a while... displeased with it. The only thing worse than the smell ... read more

    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: cheap
Cons: STINKS to high heaven and wasteful

Summary: I was in the market for odor controlling cat litter. I decided to try Feline Pine as it was cheap and a lot of reviews said it was low maintance and kept the smell down. I like the idea of flushable cat litter to keep smells out of the house and they ... read more

Pros: healthier, virtually no tracking, very light, no cat pee smell
Cons: poop smell lingers, a little harder to scoop the poop

Pros: No ammonia smell, no dust, easy to use.
    Cons: None so far.

Summary: We have a cat with serious potty issues; he was going on the living room floor so much that we had to banish him to our son's room. Every time we found a puddle in the living room, we threatened to bring the cat to the shelter. The kids would cry and ... read more

  • Best Litter I've tried to date!

    Sep 12, 2007 by
    Not yet rated.
Pros: Controls odor. No dust. Doesn't track. Eco-friendly. LOVE IT!
Cons: A little more work to scoop solid waste out unless you have the special scooper.

Summary: I have 2 cats in a smaller apartment. Because of this, the 1 litterbox is kept in my bathroom, where I can conveniently scoop waste into the toilet and flush it away. I have struggled from day 1 to find a litter that controls odor, and doesn't track ... read more

  • Use large scoop!

    Jul 29, 2007 by
    Not yet rated.
Pros: Smells great, says safe for even kittens and post-op cats, cheap, and easy disposal.
Cons: Can be messy as it breaks down. Use a high-walled litter box, do NOT overfill.

Summary: Some people say they are having problems scooping this product. If you use a high volume (large spooned) scoop, there is no problem. Also, READ THE DIRECTIONS, the pellets break down into a "dust", and in that state, are a lot easier to deal with. ... read more

  • LOVE Pine Litter, won't go back EVER

    Jun 17, 2007 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: Smells good, all natural, makes good compost, easy to clean, only 1 bag per month.
Cons: It tracks a little bit, but not as much as scoopable clay does.

Summary: I have been using Feline Pine an other brands of pine litter (Trader Joe's) for 8 years or more. My cats honestly like clay litter better, but they have never refused to use the pine, except when they had a choice. (I had to switch back actually ... read more

    Pros: Kitty will use it
Cons: Skunk cabbage smells far better and tracks less

Summary: Upon first receiving my brand new kitten, Fang-Fang, from the breeder in Atlanta I was informed that new kitty would need Feline Pine litter and some various other essentials such as food, toys, cat trees, and all the trappings that are of such import to ... read more

  • Better than the alternatives!

    May 9, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Less odor, safer for cats and environment
    Cons: Tracking, non-clumping

Summary: Having three cats, I have to deal with more frequent litter scooping/changing, more odor, etc. While visiting a friend in Texas who has two cats, she showed me her solution - Feline Pine. Yes, it does reduce the odor, even with multiple cats, as long ... read more

  • Still love it after 4 years!

    May 3, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Eco-friendly, low odor, no dust, doesn't stick to cats or hurt their noses, good price
Cons: Needs to be changed completely once a week or it will smell bad

Summary: I have noticed some bad reviews due to odor and difficult scooping, and I think the reason I have a good experience is because I do not scoop, I simply dump completely once a week and start fresh. I agree with another reviewer who said that it doesn't ... read more

  • Feline Pine - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this litter!

    Apr 4, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Pine naturally absorbs ammonia odors (pee) so not stinky like other litters!
Cons: Pellets turn to fine sawdust and can get tracked throughout house on kitty's feet.

Summary: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this litter! We used the scooping clumping stuff for a few years before we found Feline Pine. They seemed good at the time but I really hated that stinky ammonia smell from the the cat pee. Ugh! Any cat owner knows how that can stop ... read more

Pros: REALLY WORKS!!! Low price, too!!! Lasts a long time!!!
Cons: It does have a strong pine smell at first.

Summary: I had been a loyal user of crystal cat litter for a long time. I had tried all sorts of scoopable cat litter, but just couldn't find one that kept the smell at bay. I loved the crystals, but just couldn't stay with it due to the price. So, off I went, ... read more

    Pros: Cheap; pleasant smell; fun.
Cons: Hard to work around the pellets when dealing with solid matter.

Summary: Hearing good things about its effectiveness from several people, print ads, and even Epinions, I picked up a four-pound bag of Feline Pine pellets at the pet shop. The owner had an open bag, from which she showed me the product's look before and ... read more
