Pros: An absolutely brilliant debut. Cons: I didn't want it to end.
Summary: Chuck Palahniuk's FIGHT CLUB is a book I fear. Not because it's particularly frightening, but because I know I'll never write as convincing as this. And if that's true, if I'll never be this good, then what in the hell am I doing with my life? FIGHT ... read more

Pros: The ultimate cult classic. The most life changing thing I've ever experienced. Cons: The fact that no one in reality has the courage to just run with it.
Summary: I treat this book like a devoted christian would treat the Bible. This is on the top of my list of books to read. Every detail just builds to the suspense and sheer enjoyment of the novel. Chuck Palahniuk is a master of his art, and it really shows ... read more

Pros: Easy read, immediately engrossing and no obvious ending Cons: A bit helter skelter and if you've seen the movie, you know a major twist
Summary: Like many others I saw the movie based on this book when it came out in 1999. Brad Pitt was at the height of his powers and the preview grabbed someone of my age and stage. it was pretty good, but frankly I've grown to appreciate it more over repeat ... read more

Pros: Eye opening to little things you never pay attention to Cons: The "twist" where Tyler and the narrator are...more than what the may seem
Summary: The first book I read by this author and one of his better ones. It was excellent. I loved the fact that his narrator was nearly unable to have emotion or any sort of normal life. His world basically sucked so he created another one. But the hell you ... read more

Pros: Even better than the movie Cons: None!
Summary: As soon as I finished watching the movie, I knew I had to read the book. Even though it was $13 for a paperback, it was well worth it. What I liked about the book was it went a more detail than the movie. It even clarified a few scenes I had a little ... read more

Pros: A fresh and witty sense of reality.
A contradictory and ironic tone. Cons: Too short.
Summary: If you stop and take a look at America's society today, you see it has many loopholes. And not often do you come across a fresh new author who so blatantly exploits them. One of these Authors is Chuck Palahniuk, and his first, and one of his best, books ... read more

Pros: This book could change your life. Cons: An original hard cover copy of this book can run you $70+ on Half.com.
Summary: If you've seen the movie, great. If not, even better. On the surface, "Fight Club" is a book about bare-fist brawling, and misguided testosterone. But to any reader with an inkling of insight this book provides clever commentary on life in the "gimme ... read more
