Pros: Amazing graphics, simple but fun gameplay, and great emotional music. Everything that a good game should have. Cons: I wish I could have spent more time with the characters! Also, one or two of the characters should have been developed more.
After a disappointment by Final Fantasy VIII and almost no hype about the game in the US except on the, web, I was a bit skeptical about how good this game would be at first. But, since I was a big fan of the series and knew that the game...

Pros: AWESOME game Cons: nothing yet...
For six games, the Final Fantasy series revolved around the medieval ages with cutesy super distorted characters and wizards and the works. While some enjoyed the slight jump into the modern world by FF7 and FF8, many didn't, and these people were the...

Pros: Sweet graphics, sweet cast, sweet abilities system Cons: None
Final Fantasy 9, is probably the best Final Fantasy on the playstation!! When I played Final Fantasy VIII, I was pretty disappointed in it. The things that I thought should've been in the game just... wasn't! But now, with Final Fantasy IX, I feel so...

Pros: Graphics, sound effects, exuberance Cons: Not as innovative as FF8
2/28 Update
Look at that--three months later and I'm still playing the thing. Up to nearly 80 hours. That's what you get when you only play it an hour or so a night.
While I'm still enjoying FF9 for the most part, I must say that...

Pros: Increased character development Cons: A-B storyline, player decisions don't affect outcome
Okay let's see...
Our story begins as Zidane, the pseudo-main character, monkey man walks into a room where the first battle (a test run to get used to a slightly new system) is going to take place. This battle is pretty easily overcome since...

Pros: Magnificent graphics, music and gameplay(battle system). Cons: Storyline is confusing at times but still good.
Having played Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9 and Tactics, Final Fantasy 9 fulfills the expectations that I had.
Gameplay: The battle system has been integrated to 4 characters instead of 3 now, allowing more variety and strategy to make the best use...

Pros: Awe-inspiring graphics, undeniably classic plot; the epitome of the FF series Cons: The game has to end
Wow! It's rare that a game comes out that literally makes me hit my knees and thank the Gaming Gods. Metal Gear Solid for PlayStation was one. So was Sonic the Hedgehog for Genesis, as well as Legend of Zelda on the NES. Well, now you can add Final...

Pros: great epic storyline, the ending, the fact that Squaresoft made it Cons: none, really, except I thought Kuja maybe could've been a little eviler.
Final Fantasy 9, the game that combines elements from the past Final Fantasies into one, strong role-playing game. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told. I’ll admit, I’m not much of a hardcore Final Fantasy gamer. In fact, this is my second Final...

Pros: Great Story, Great Graphics/FMV, awesome characters, awesome ending Cons: Trance system, not too powerful eidolons
As always, Square has done it again! Final Fantasy 9 has taken the new spotlight of Square's game lineup, and it lives up to the great title of Final Fantasy.
The setting once again takes place in medievil times just like the older Anthology...

Pros: Sakaguchi Hironobu-sama and Uematsu Nobuo-sama are geniuses, graphics are amazing Cons: Without giving too much away, the ending; end bosses way too easy
Ok, I know the game is over a year old, but there's a story to why this review is coming so late - I bought it in December of 2000, got to Treno and put it down for a while. Life just got too busy. Then I started over about a month ago, then halfway...

Pros: Traditional Final Fantasy look and feel. Great music, graphics. Cons: Lacking story.
Being a pretty jaded gamer I knew what to expect from Final Fantasy 9. Although the game takes place in a new world with different characters it's still more of the same. You always end up saving the world somehow. What makes up for the lacking story...

Pros: It's pretty. Wonderful musical score, very good storyline. Cons: Not that tough.
After such complete garbage from Sqaure like Final Fantasy 8 and Chrono Cross, I was really beginning to lose my faith in my once most respected company. But now, with the release of Final Fantasy 9, and having played and beaten it, I can now say that...

Pros: Great Storyline, Fun Characters, Innovative skill system, Good Graphics, Cool minigames Cons: Not enough sidequests or hidden characters... overall too easy
Wow I haven't been on this site forever, but now that I have some more time I'll be writting lots and lots of videogame and anime reviews. This is my first review.
I've had this game since it first came out and I absolutely love it. No I'm...

Pros: Best Final Fantasy Game ever Cons: Nothing really new in terms of interface
Holding the newly released Final Fantasy IX case in my hands, I could not believe that I finally have the copy of the game. With the various beautifully drawn chracters on the cover, I could not help but open my mouth wide in awe at what I will be...

Pros: Great story, good charactor development, not to hard or to easy. Cons: I have heard that this is the last FF game for Playstation.
After playing Final Fantasy IX I realized that it was a really great game. It draws you in, and forces you to keep playing, and you continue not only for the challenge, but also for understanding. New tweaks in the storyline will continue to pop up,...
