Pros: Card game, graphics, music, characters, story, what else is there? Cons: That the game has to end eventually.
About a year ago, Squaresoft made a shocking announcement that not only was Final Fantasy 9 in the works, but it's future sequels, FF10 and FF11. This made me wonder, wouldn't the company most likely be preparing for the ultimate release of it's latest...

Pros: Solid Story, distinguishable characters Cons: Too many player characters, end game easy
Final Fantasy IX is the latest installment in the venerable series developed by Squaresoft and published by Square Electronic Arts LLC. Let me say that Square seems to do its best Final Fantasys when leaving a particular platform. As it did with Final...

Pros: This is yet another well done game by Squaresoft. Cons: The plot gets a little boring during the middle parts of the game.
This game is a good game to play and it is fun. But I found that the game wasn't as good as the other Final Fantasies. I like the built-in jobs and the return of the crystals. The crystals or like the jobs skills but the characters cannot change jobs....

Pros: excellent gameplay, amazing storyline, eye popping cg cinemas, and a whole lot of other stuff Cons: the main character has a tail!
When you hear the words "final fantasy", you think that fantasy is coming to an end. It is not anything like that. As a matter of fact, I cannot really describe final fantasy IX in a 50 paragraph way. All I can say is if you have...

Pros: Sound, graphics, story, battle system, everything! Cons: none that I know.
Wow doesn't even begin to describe this game! If you are a fan of the series the first thing you will notice is the return to old school style! If you are a beginner in the great wide world of Final Fantasy then you will notice many things. As those...

Pros: It's Final Fantasy. Cons: You can only play it for the first time once.
In movies, sequels are usually bad. Video games are much more forgiving, especially Final Fantasy. This is not re-hashed crap coming back in a bad script, it's an old friend returning with a new haircut.
If you're a fan of any Final Fantasy...

Pros: Beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds, highly detailed characters, good challenge Cons: Horrible card game- de-evolved from FFVIII's, bland mini-games, uninspired story, cookie-cutter cities
I just want to start by saying that this is by no means a bad game. I am simply pointing out all the things that are wrong with this game and being harsh because Final Fantasy games are supposed to really push the limits of technology and story-telling....

Pros: Great graphics, superb soundtrack, fantastic FMV (I'll stop), Final Fantasy Cons: A bit too linear, pointless end boss, Kuja looks like a girl
Intro:
Squaresoft, the name is synonymous with quality (in RPGs) and not may gamers can say that there wasn't at least one game by them they liked. I personally am a Square fanatic. They're probably my favorite 3rd-party developer (tied with Sega)....

Pros: 4 Characters instead of 3. Characters are more integrated with the story. Cons: The ability system is a bit restricting.
If you have played the previous versions of final fantasy you would notice a great difference in the battle system when ariving at FFIX. They have tried to simplify the system as well as make the characters more individual, mainly so that they may fit...

Pros: Not futuristic anymore, more fantasy, lovable characters, balanced fighting, story, Class system returns, cid, chocobos Cons: Queen Branne looks like Mimi from Drew Carrey show, Square's obsession with big hands
Square finally decided to not have a final fantasy that deals with technology. The three previous final fantasys were increasingly having plots that dealed with technology. The previous final fantasy, which I dislike, had little "old school" fantasy....

Pros: Back to it's Old Self!!!! Cons: none
I have been waiting for FF9 to come out since my dissapointment with 8, though 8 a good FF game, it isn't the Final Fantasy I was used to.
For any of you Final Fantasy buffs out there you know how the look and feel of FF is. And when they...

Pros: Better learning curve, graphics, translation Cons: Plot was not as engaging
To be fair, I've been playing Final Fantasy since the Super Nintendo, and Squaresoft has never missed the mark yet. This time, while they didn't miss, it wasn't dead center.
I can understand the inexperienced players would find this game most...

Pros: Characters are almost real in this fantasy game. Cons: It ends eventually...
Final Fantasy is a series long in the making, and all of us have come to expect great things from the games. I still believe that FF7 was the greatest game ever, but FF9 is a strong mix of the great old features, and new innovative ones.

Pros: beautiful graphics, fun side quests, some great story moments Cons: annoying battle system, childish characters, sometimes stupid story
First of all, let me say that I have been quite a fan of the Final Fantasy series. When I bought a Nintendo system, FF1 was the first game I bought for it and enjoyed it a great deal. I enjoyed FF2 (FF4 in Japan) and loved FF3 (FF6 in Japan) for the...

Pros: Graphics, Gameplay, Fantasy-theme, Battle system, and it's difficult! Cons: I can't find the soundtrack in stores...
I was one of those "Final Fantasy 3 super-fans" - (er, Final Fantasy 6 for all of us who know what US FF3 really was :) ) --- I played it inside and out, had all the stuff, had multiples of killer items like the fabled Economizer (yay!) - not...
