Fabulous!

by tesserae , Nov 16 '05
Pros: the unit is amazing, compact, and easy to swim with, sound quality is great,
Cons: lack of immediate accessible customer service, starts up at the first song each time.
I was given the Swimp3 as an early Christmas present by my in-laws, who knew that my daily mile swim had become monotonous. I did some research and discovered that this was the best reviewed underwater mp3 player, so this was the one I asked for. ...

Finis Swimp3 Satisfaction

by slarcice , Feb 28 '07
Pros: Well... everything, read article to fully understand. Perfect clear audible sound.
Cons: Confusing button manipulation. Small music capacity.
Finis SwiMP3 Product: Unfortunately this item doesn’t have very many competitors in the field of waterproof mp3 players… However, amongst the others, the quality in sound alone makes the SwiMP3 Player by far the leader. Once opening the simple ...

Big Funs Swimdogs! (SwiMP3 V2)

by waterinmynose , Sep 30 '07
Pros: Tunes while swimming! Tunes while swimming! Easy setup, works well. Can use along with earplugs.
Cons: No bass. Bit of an apparatus. Pricey. Kinda geeky looking.
I purchased a SwiMP3 V2 a little while ago hoping that it would be at least acceptable for entertaining me during my hour to two hour swim every day. I have since been pleasantly surprised by how well it works. It easily holds more songs than I can ...

Monotony banished

by thehotbreadguy , Mar 23 '09
Pros: Easy to use, works well, makes time (usually) fly
Cons: Looks a bit geeky at the best of times, downright silly on me
I've been using the SwiMp3 for nearly a year now, and although the first one I was sent was defective, the seller quickly replaced it with a good one and sent me a small gift to compensate for the trouble. I swim about 6-7 hours a week and the SwiMp3 ...

Great swimming companion.
by drawnedlac ,Apr 26 '08
Pros: Good sound. Great design. Easy to use. It works!
Cons: Low storage space. Multi function buttons.
I love this product. It works great and the sound quality is sufficient to entertain me while I'm doing long swim workouts. An added bonus for me: with the bone conduction technology I can wear earplugs to keep water out of my ears.

You plug it into your computer USB port to charge, and although it only has 256MP of storage space it is really easy to update songs and podcasts when it's charging. Finis (the manufacture) updated the product and gave a $99 discount when exchanging with the new product. I now use the newer version SwiMP3 v2) which is less bulky and (slightly) easier to use then this original product.

My only complaint is the multi-function buttons which control both volume and track. You press and HOLD to raise or lower volume. If you don't hold the button long enough it skips or starts over the track I'm playing. I rarely have this problem any longer, once I became accustomed to the controls.

really cool product
by kelpie99 ,Feb 10 '09
Pros: great sound, fun to use
Cons: not compatible with Audible, doesn't resume playing from the same point
I was injured and had to quit running, so I started swimming instead. After 30 minutes it gets really boring. So I asked for the Swimp3 for Christmas, thinking I would be able to listen to my audio books in the pool the same as I did on the treadmill. Unfortunately the player is not compatible with Audible books, which is a real bummer. So then I decided to listen to radio programs instead. The only problem is, you can't start playing where you left off. So I can listen to lost of a radio show, and then have to finish listening on my computer. But besides all that, this is an amazing product, very easy to use, and the sound quality is tremendous.

Wonderful product
by roadcoach ,Sep 12 '09
Pros: Great customer service
Cons: None that I can think of.
My SwiMP3 stopped working. It was over a year old. I sent it in for repair, fully expecting to pay to have it refurbished. They sent me back a NEW one and did not charge me. What great customer service. I swim about 5 hours a week and this product is the only thing that I have found that works.
There is a tendency for my swimming to drown out the music, but if I wear ear plugs the music comes through loud and clear.

Finis Swimp3 Player
by captain_ill ,Dec 27 '05
Pros: Ease of use, sound quality, comfortable
Cons: Low memory (128mb)
I just got this mp3 player for Christmas and used it all this week. It is great. The sound quality is excellent and I really put it to the test by pushing hard off the pool walls. I was afraid it would shake loose and interrupt my swim, but it didn't. The goggles that come with it are fine, and you can change them out if you want to. That is a plus. The only real drawback I see is that it doesn't hold a lot of songs (128mb). That is plenty for an hour long swim though, so I don't think you will be disappointed. Loading the songs is "drag and drop" style...VERY EASY. This is a great little product and pretty reasonable price. I love it. For any people doubting how good it works, DON'T. It really works great. It does not feel bulky or uncomfortable at all.

Makes swimming laps a lot more fun!
by kimdvm ,Feb 25 '06
Pros: Easy to use. Does exactly what it is advertised to do.
Cons: Poor connection method to USB cable. Not compatible with Audible audiobooks.
My husband and I were given one of these for a joint Christmas present and we practically fight over it. It takes the monotony out of lap swimming. (If you are really serious about your pacing, you may not want it... just as real serious runners don't like the way music can control their pace). It stays in place nicely when swimming, and I have no trouble hearing the music. I can hear it very well the whole time my head is in the water. It doesn't hold a lot of music, but it is just enough for a swim workout.

It is fairly easy to load music and to charge the unit via the USB port. However, the cable connection is frustrating... it has some pins similar to keyboard connections, but the pins bend easily when you hook it up. I am afraid this might be a durability issue.

I would also like to see it become audible-compatible, so you could also listen to audiobooks on it.

Overall, amazing technology! Now I hate to go swimming without it.
