A Great Gadget for the New-Baby Kitchen

by nifer , Oct 31 '03
Pros: Quickly and safely heats pumped breastmilk, formula, or jars of baby food
Cons: Determining accurate water levels takes some practice; keep a towel nearby
Soon after the birth of our daughter in late September 2003, we realized the convenience of having our The First Years Night and Day Bottle Warmer - a baby shower gift - in the third-floor nursery of our tri-level home. Steam heating bottles, we found, re ...

a bottle warmer with space in mind

by grayjessie , Aug 26 '04
Pros: heats bottles quickly, fits all type of bottles, heats up baby food jars, small size
Cons: condensation builds up on outside of bottle, making it slippery.
When I started to pump breastmilk for my daughter to drink while I was at college all day, I looked into different ways to heat the milk up after its been frozen. My caretaker said that letting the storage bag or bottle sit in a bowl of warm water took ...

Makes night time feedings a breeze!

by mom2gandl , Dec 18 '02
Pros: Can be used with disposable bottles; heats quickly; automatic shutoff
Cons: Bottle could overheat if not removed immediately; does not keep bottles cold between feedings
This bottle warmer is a great product for those who bottle-feed, especially for those middle of the night feedings. Before buying this product, I was spending up to 5 minutes in the bathroom each night waiting for my son's bottles to warm...not anymore!...

a tad tricky, but once you get it....it's great

by texancowgirl75 , Apr 22 '03
Pros: useful for baby jar foods as well
Cons: hard to get milk "just right" by their recommendations & long waiting period between uses
It sure beats warming a bottle up on the stove, but it could use a couple of improvements. I think the recommended amount of water to add is based on room temperature bottles, not refrigerated milk, because it never gets warm enough by their measures. I...

Works well in the beginning.....

by g_love , Apr 13 '05
Pros: Easy to use once filled with water; Tube to measure water attaches to the side.
Cons: Durability.
We bought the first one since we were told not to heat bottles in the microwave. It worked well, and the measure they give for water, attaches to the side. The bottle warmer does shut off automatically, and the unit is small enough that you can take it ...

Space Saving Good Bottle Warmer!

by jesstomcho , Oct 24 '08
Pros: Efficient, Easy to use, space saving, overall good design
Cons: trial and error on the amount of water needed to properly heat the bottle.
All and all I would have to say the first years quick serve bottle warmer is a must have for a new parent, especially if they are planning on feeding formula. Although it does have a few quirks, but once you figure them out it works great.I used ...

Unnecessary Baby Gadget

by fudge23 , Sep 29 '05
Pros: Inexpensive, small, works with a wide variety of bottles and jars.
Cons: messy, does not heat consistently
As the mother of a newborn, I wanted everything just right when I brought my baby home. As any expectant parent can attest, there is a onslaught of advertising for "must have" items. Most of these "must have" are useless and appeal to the anxieties of ...

Not always consistent, but does the job.

by desertsol , Sep 23 '03
Pros: Convenient and portable...no pans of boiling water!
Cons: Doesn't always heat to the same temperature each time.
I read all the reviews before buying this and decided it sounded good once you figure out how much water is needed for your type of bottle and what temperature your baby likes. So I did a lot of trial and error and thought I had it figured out. But ther ...

Handy and reliable
by elivings ,Jan 30 '07
Pros: Quick, space efficient, reliable, good price
Cons: Leaves hot condensation on outside of bottle.
I've been using this bottle warmer every since my son was about a month old. It did take awhile to learn exactly the right amount of water to put in (don't just go by the table on the side, I think each warmer is different). I've now got the right amount down pat and his bottles come out at a good temperature.

Gives off a dreadful smell if any of the formula gets on the hot plate but I imagine most bottle warmers are the same.

This is small enough that I just leave it out on my kitchen cupboard so I can use it whenever I want to.

Good price - no need to get too high tech on something that can be done with a cheaper option.

A MUST HAVE ITEM BUT NOT RELIABLE
by erikanpw ,Jun 11 '04
Pros: works very quickly and takes up a small amount of space, better than old way
Cons: not reliable, sometimes it's too hot or too cold
This bottle warmer works pretty fast. I love it for night feedings because I don't have to go downstairs to warm up a bottle. There are two problems. One is it takes forever to measure the water into a small measuring tube. Next, is you never know if it comes out too hot or too cold or just perfect. But it is still faster than warming up the bottle the old way. If using disposable bottles there are no other choices but to buy this one.

Quick Way to Warm a Bottle
by kailey210 ,Feb 25 '05
Pros: heats up very quickly
Cons: makes bottles a little wet
I started off by heating up water in the microwave and placing the bottle inside to heat. It took a long time. I was then given this bottle warmer as a gift and what a difference it made. You can heat bottles up in no time at all, making getting the bottle to the baby much easier. There is a little blue cup attached which is used to pour in the correct amount of water for heating the bottle. It is accompanied with instructions inside on how much water to use. I found that this was not always accurate. Sometimes the bottles did not warm using the desired amount of water instructed to. I had to play it by ear and learn from my own experience how much water I needed to warm up the bottle. Overall, it is a good product that heats up bottles quickly once you have it down pat on how much water to put in.

a good buy - be prepared to clean it often though!
by erikalc ,Jun 25 '06
Pros: quick, quiet, space saver - heats well
Cons: MOLD can accumulate in the bottom if you do not clean it often.
This little warmer does a great job once you figure out the exact amount of water to use. It is quick, quiet, and convenient, and takes up very little counterspace. BUT, because it creates a warm, moist atmosphere, MOLD grows in the bottom like crazy, and you have to clean it often because otherwise it gets mucky and smells terrible. Overall though, it's been one of our better baby purchases.

First Years Quick Serve Bottle Warmer
by ruby77 ,Dec 13 '07
Pros: price, fast, warms bottle evenly, lightweight, easy to clean
Cons: Brown stuff collects at bottom of bottle warmer if not cleaned often, condensation on bottles
For those of you who bottle feed, this product is absolutely a must-have!! Before I bought it, I was spending a great deal of time warming the bottle in the kitchen. Well, not anymore! This warmer uses steam to heat the bottle evenly in the least amount of time compared to other methods. At first, it is a little hard to figure out exactly how much water to use in order to warm up the bottle..a guide does come along with the warmer, however it's a little off, since every bottle is different and warms differently. Also, a bottle at room temp and a bottle from the fridge will also heat differently. So with a little practice, it is easy to figure out. I would give this product a perfect rating, except for the fact that there is condensation on the bottles after warming them up(keep a towel handy) and the bottom of the warmer becomes brown(pretty nasty but just make sure to clean it every few days).

Inconsistent when heating disposable liner bottles
by taraa ,Oct 30 '08
Pros: plugs in
Cons: works by steam
in consistent when heating disposable lined bottles
I purchased this bottle warmer as it was the only one available.  The advent one that I wanted was no-where to be found.  This bottle warmer works by Steam, you fill a little tube depending on how many ounces are in your bottle and then pour that into the base, then you turn it on and stick the bottle in there.  I found that it didn't heat my disposable lined bottles consistently, sometimes it was too hot or too cold.  I think that could be dangerous, I would always test before giving the bottle to baby.
