Pros: Great size. Realistic phone sounds. Teaches number & object recognition. It's Elmo! Cons: Would you believe that it's too quiet!?!
My son loves telephones. Notice that I didn't say "my son loves TOY telephones." My son already has a few toy phones, given to him by loving relatives who noticed his phone-phascination (the spell-checker is going to love that one), but none of the toy...
Pros: Small; Portable; Inexpensive; Doesn't make much noise Cons: Phone plays the main song if moved
What makes a good, simple, inexpensive toy for a baby? Well, the toy needs to make sounds and/or have flashing lights to be acceptable to most kids. And one toy that is certainly small, simple, and makes sounds is Elmo’s World Cell Phone, a play ...
Pros: teaches how to identify numbers and pictures, has Elmo's face and voice Cons: One volume level is easily drowned out. Toggling between modes can frustrate.
LA-la, LA-la, La-la, La-la, It's Elmo's world. Isn't that the freakin' truth. After only having a plastic rattle phone for the longest time, When asked what to get my daughter for her 1st birthday (in April), I asked my sister get one of those ...
Pros: Great play value Cons: Elmo interrupts himself
Phones are not like they were when I had children. Then (that would be in the olden days) the receiver was attached to the phone, which was attached to a cord that plugged into the wall. And believe it or not the phone rang when someone called. ...
Pros: Very cute and educational phone. Teaches numbers and names pictures. Convenient size. Great price. Cons: Once demo tag is removed it becomes too quiet.
My son just received this for his first birthday. He loves phones but all of the other toy phones he has do not hold his interest. He always wanted mommy's phone until Elmo's came along. When he got it for his birthday he wanted to play with it ...
Pros: Elmo, phone, buttons and flip mouthpiece - great combination! Cons: Too Soft! If there is competing noise (radio, people, etc) you cannot hear at all!
What child does not like Elmo? Well this toy is no different. My son was given this toy when his grandmother took him to the store and he wouldn't put it down. Boy, does that trick ever work. (Too bad it doesn't work that way once you are grown.) ...
Pros: Easy to carry, educational, colorful and fun. Cons: None.
This cell phone is easy to grip with it's "ergonomic" sides. It's small enough to toss in a diaper bag, and large enough to be easily found. It is blue on the back, and the front has a white background, with a pink squiggly to the left and right of ...
Pros: Has multiple modes of play, allows for symbolic play Cons: none
My daughter loves Elmo, and telephones, so this was the perfect combination. She wouldn't give it to the cashier at Wal-Mart when it was still in the box. The bottom of the phone flips open as a cell phone would. When opened Elmo's eyes open and he ...
Pros: Very cute. Cons: Very quiet, but you won't know it until it is removed from the box.
I purchased the Talking Cell Phone for my one year old daughter. It caught my eye because, of course, babies love phones! Here is what I observed in the box: With the phone flipped shut, his eyes are closed. The antennae looks like a cute orange ...
Pros: Very Cute! Nice size. Cons: SOUND is very soft once removed from packaging!
This phone is great, except the volume. This phone is a great size for a toddler's little hands. Once the mouth pc is flipped open...the phone's eyes open...and we hear the Elmo tune. When flipped closed, he thanks us for calling. There is a ...
Pros: Price was good. Kids love Elmo. Seems quite durable. Cons: Very quiet. Not much to do with it.
I purchased this phone for my 11 month old at a WalMart Supercenter. I will admit......it was a major impulse purchase. I should have just left it there. Hunter had a blast playing with it while we finished our shopping trip (I figured he'd love it ...
Pros: great, colorful phone Cons: a little too quiet
Every kid seems to love telephones. Most kids go right for the real phones, but with a good toy one, you can keep them occupied for at least a few minutes. The Elmo’s World Talking Cell Phone is great, if for no other reason than it has Elmo on ...
Pros: Great toy if you child like Elmo! Cons: Sound reduced once removed from packing, but can be adjusted (not recommended from factory tho).
What a great toy if you keep the volume tab in! We got this toy for our 1 year olds birth day and she loved it but could not hear it. I thought it was broken so I took the toy back to wal-mart and exchanged it for a new one. Sounded great in the store ...
Pros: Durable, Cute Phone, Sesame Street Character adds to the enticement of it. Cons: Volume is way too low.
My son loves cell phones. He will do anything to get at ours so when I saw the Elmo Talking Cell Phone at the store I thought it would be great for him. He loved it in the store listening to elmo talk. I thought that by purchasing this phone it would solve the problem of him always wanting to touch our phone. When I took the phone out of the box I noticed that the volume went WAY down, almost to a whisper. Then I noticed a Notice To Consumer note stuck inside the box informing the consumer that the volume will go down and that it is not a defect. I was truly upset by this. If I had known that when I was in the store deciding whether or not to purchase this product that the volume will go way down then I most definitely would not have purchased it. Now my son does not even touch the phone because its just not fun for him. He can barely hear Elmo talking to him. Its another toy stuck in the toy pile untouched. What a disappointment.
Does not work as appears in store. by wynstacy ,Dec 28 '03
Pros: Cute concept. Cons: Deceiving! Volume too low once you pull demo tag off from store.
I love the concept of this toy. I have an Elmo/Sesame Street crazy toddler who loves phones. It was great in the store but then you pull the demonstration tab from it when you open it and the sound diminishes so much that you can't even hear it! It is no longer engaging. A real disappointment. Save your money. The record and play cell phone by Parents from Target is much better and you can put your own voice on it for your kids to hear clearly when they push the button!
