Fisher Price Healthy Care - the best choice highchair!

by skfayer , Sep 14 '02
Pros: Dishwasher safe tray, easy clean vinyl, seven height adjustments, three tilt settings
Cons: No castors, a nuisance baby jar holder
It's not unusual; being a new mom it took me two tries to find the right high chair. I wasn't sure what I was looking for, and had to return the first one. With the Fisher Price Healthy Care highchair, however, I got it right. This chair has many...

After all of the votes are in, this is a very good HC!!!

by jhngh41 , Mar 22 '04
Pros: Cost, removable tray, 5 secure strap, stopper on the seat, easy assembly, name brand
Cons: My wife almost threw the jar holder out because she couldn't get it back on
Well, look at it this way, this high chair has all of the bell and whistles that a high chair should have. From it's removable tray, to its adjustable height, even its handy dandy jar/cup holder on the side that is easier to knock off accidentally than ...

Another Fine Fisher Price product!

by jenjen70 , Aug 27 '02
Pros: Smaller tray fits in dishwasher. Easy changing of seat height and angle of seat back.
Cons: Dopey "jar holder" No place to stow extra tray. Silly ruffle around seat =mush magnet
One of my problems is that if I need to buy an expensive item, I look for reviews. I ask for opinions. Maybe a highchair in the $60-70 range isn't a big expense for you, but with 3 kids, I can think of a lot of things to do with my $70.

Best value for money!

by peanut_josh , Sep 03 '02
Pros: All around great! 5*****

Great Highchair

by kraftm , Oct 04 '03
Pros: 5 point restraint, dishwasher safe tray
Cons: straps hard to clean, jar holder falls off a lot
I admit the overall first reason I chose this highchair was because it had a dishwasher safe tray. Then I noticed it was a reasonable price for highchairs. This highchair has two type of feeding trays. The one traditional (base) tray that snaps on ...

Pros: Easy to clean, easy to use, tray goes in dishwasher
Cons: Storage caddy is pretty useless, Not the cheapest

A safe and secure environment for baby to eat AND Play

by rachellesims , May 27 '03
Pros: Several height adjustments, sturdy & secure, vinyl seat cover, pleasant to the eye
Cons: Super annoying jar holder on side, one handed tray removal is tricky, no castors
I researched high chairs for what seemed Forever! I was all set to go with another brand, when I discovered at the last moment that it had a CLOTH seat cover! (Who puts cloth on a highchair :( ) So, this was my second choice.

An excellent high chair!!!!

by caraleed , Nov 01 '02
Pros: One-hand tray release, 5-pt safety harness, dishwasher-safe tray, cup/jar holder.
Cons: Safety straps cannot be removed for washing.

Cons: No casters if you really want them. The jar holder is useless.

So far, I'm ECSTATIC about this purchase
by kolszta ,Oct 25 '06
Pros: Attached toys. Lots of height/reclining options
Cons: None yet
Sure, I've only had the Fisher Price Healthy Care High Chair (aquarium style) for about a week but I'm already EXTREMELY glad I bought it. I was trying to decide between a full sized chair and one that attached to a regular dining chair. I'm so glad I chose the full-sized chair.

My son (6 months old) LOVES the toys that come with it, and I love that they are attached. I love that I can roll it to any spot in the kitchen so my son can watch me do dishes, prepare food, etc.

Great high chair!
by sfarrell3 ,Mar 01 '07
Pros: Height adjustment, reclines, easy to clean, high quality chair.
Cons: cloth around the edges gets dirty fast
We bought this high chair used and it had already been through 2 kids. I was surprised that after 2 kids it was still in such good shape. I had heard about the nightmares some people have trying to find a good high chair and feel I got lucky. I will definitely go with Fisher Price again if we need another high chair in the future. The height adjustments are great. I love the wipable vinyl seat. The bar to hang bibs on is very convenient as are the pegs to hold the tray if you're not using it. The only thing I don't like about this chair is the cloth ruffle around the edge. My daughter loves to turn around or reach up and usually touches it so it has gotten dirty very fast. I don't want to wash the vinyl though. Other than that it is great.

Cons: food jar holder is unuseful
Very nice High Chair, love the different height adjustments and reclining positions, easy to take off chair cover to wash, washes nice in washer. the tray fits in disherwasher so it is easy to get clean. Never used the harness, my child sat in it fine, the ruffle and seat cracks seemed to collect food, the food jar holder was more of a pain then helpful, was always falling off,did use it at all. Problems with the Tray
by lesliepear ,Oct 15 '03
Pros: 5 point harness
Cons: 11 month old able to remove tray
We bought this chair to replace the one at our sitters after our son fell out of the high chair there. I especially liked the 5 point harness.

Unfortunately within the week, Alan (who turned one on 10/15/03) has been able to remove the tray and throw it. This is not acceptable. A child SHOULD not be able to open the tray from the inside.

We contacted Fisher Price, they are picking up the chair and refunding our money.

I just want to share our experience with other parents.

Not to shabby for a cheaper high chair
by stacey1515 ,Mar 28 '07
Pros: Easy to clean, adjustable height, several reclines.
Cons: A bit heavy, hard to store, small tray area.
This highchair has held up really well for us. It is very easy to use and clean. We wish that it folded up a bit better though. Also, when the tray topper is in place you can only use small (child size) plates. It isn't wide enough for regular plates.

The Perfect High Chair! Fisher Price Healthy Care High Chair
by kelico ,Jul 20 '05
Pros: Cleans up easily, Folds for storage, Height Adjustment
Cons: Chair cushion can be difficult to clean - ruffle
I received this high chair as a baby shower gift 15 months ago. It is an amazing high chair! The tray comes off easily for cleaning, while there is another tray underneath - great for messy meals! The tray also has five compartments - which makes it great for putting baby's food and drink in different spots.
The seat adjusts to seven different heights - perfect for sliding under your main dinner table so baby can be part of the family gathering. The seat also has three positions - depending on the age of your child. I love the fact that the chair cushion is made of plastic and is removable - easy for cleaning up toddler mess!

The tray moving mechanisim is a one handed movement - great for when you have a baby in your arms!
The chair also folds up easily for storage and travel.
The only flaw that I have with this chair is that the seat cushion has a material ruffle around the edge, thus making it difficult to clean. But compared to all of the positive aspects of the chair, I can live with the ruffle!

Hands Down the Best High Chair
by sillymommy ,Nov 28 '04
Pros: Adjustable, easy to clean, removable tray rocks!
Cons: Baby food jar holder and the straps are a nuisance.
I absolutely LOVE my Healthy Care High Chair and recommend to to friends and family. It's easy to clean, the tray that comes off and goes in the dishwasher is a God send and we love how it adjusts. Now that my son is 21-months we drop it down to the lowest level and leave his snacks on it, it's the perfect height for him to walk around and play and stop in for a snack.

I love how easy it is to get the seat cover off to throw in the wash.

The baby food jar holder has long since become a toy, as it really serves no purpose and won't really stay on the chair and the straps stay under the seat cover as I really see no need for them. Other than that I love this high chair!

Fisher Price Wins Over Fist Time Mom
by jesstopher ,Jan 26 '04
Pros: Easy to clean removable tray. Folds for storage or travel. Fairly inexpensive.
Cons: Side holder doesn't work well. Wish it had wheels!
Being a first time mom I wasn't really sure what to look for in a High Chair. I finally decided on the Fisher Price Healthy Care High Chair. I chose it because of it's easy to clean features. I am so glad I chose this high chair! I love the detachable tray that fits right into the dishwasher. My son has eaten everything from spaghetti with sauce to cranberry sauce on this tray and there is not one single stain to prove it! The cushion is easy to clean with a wet cloth. The tray is easy to remove with one hand, which is very helpful. There is a bar in the center of the chair to make sure baby doesn't slip, there is also a harness which can be removed. Perhaps the best part about the chair is that it folds down for easy storage or travel. We take ours with us for holiday dinners at our parents house. It easily fits in our car. While it is true that the jar holder is useless, it doesn't change our level of satisfaction with this high chair.

Pretty good for the Plastic chairs out there
by woodstck ,May 30 '05
Pros: Easy wipe down, adjustable height/backrest, one-hand release, molded tray on top of main tray. Folds
Cons: elastic on chair cover gives up fast, kids figure out side releases eventually
Considering the use and toss attitude manufacturers have now its a pretty ok chair. I'm using it for my second child and its still going. Easy to clean except for the straps - elastic gives out faster than rest of chair. (I'm on my 2nd cover).

LOVE it
by weetotsmom ,Jun 27 '04
Pros: Wipeable, washable vinyl pad 7 height adjustments Removable dishwashable tray that makes a plate unnecessary
Cons: Could be smaller when folded up
I LOVE this high chair. It's wonderful. Has dishwasher-safe toy loop, so you can attach toys to keep your tot entertained while you're making food. Five-point restraints. The pad is wonderful. So easy to clean. Folds up easily, and the seven height adjustments allow you to slide it up to just about any table. I love, love, love this high chair. I wish I had gotten it earlier, when my little one was first born. Would have been a wonderful place to keep her while I was working in the kitchen.

Great highchair!
by jacintx ,Feb 28 '04
Pros: Dishwasher safe tray, very adjustable.
Cons: Send two trays with the chair Fisher Price!
This is a great option for a mid range highchair. The chair itself is very adjustable and the vinyl pad comes off easily to toss in the washing machine. Best of all, the dishwasher safe tray pops right off and goes right in with all the other dishes. I actually bought a spare tray from Fisher Price for about $3 so that we can have one in the dishwasher and an extra one to use - it would be nice if they included an extra one. The chair is very sturdy too, we have not had any fears of our son tipping it over while either in the chair or playing around it. The one hand release is also a nice feature when you are dealing with a squirming toddler!

One Major Flaw on this High Chair!
by kkhohlen ,Dec 20 '03
Pros: vinyl padding, dishwasher safe tray
Cons: Tray can easily be popped off by the child!
I loved this highchair when we 1st got it. The vinyl padding that looks like material, the dishwasher safe tray - all great! But.... Now that my daughter is a little older 15 mos. she can pop the entire tray off herself and it goes flying. They put the releases for the tray too close to the childs reach and made them very easy to push so when she's done, she pops the tray off with her 1 hand and whatever is on the tray goes on the floor. I'm a little worried that someday this is going to hit someone especially the new baby I'm going to have in March. I tried to call Fischer Price about this and their response was "We don't have a fix for this" So BEWARE when your children get a little older and figure this out.
SEE MY COMMENT I ADDED A FEW DAYS LATER...

Healthy Care High Chair
by tatufreak1996 ,Oct 26 '04
Pros: Very easy clean-up and sanitation. Adjustable height, and easy to fold and put away.
Cons: None that I have found.
This high chair is wonderful, in that it came with three removable feeding trays, that are dishwasher safe. I know my baby's always eating from a sanitized surface, just like his parents. It also came with a teething ring to keep him occupied while I fix his meals.

The liner is able to be wiped clean with a cloth, and/or removed and put in the washing machine. It's height is adjustable, and it folds easily for space saving while not in use. The feet are non slip for added safety.

Great high chair
by ogdenmom ,Mar 16 '07
Pros: easy to use when you only have one free hand
Cons: the decorative ruffle is difficult to clean
My daughter received this high chair for Christmas and it is the best one I've ever used. The tray slides off easily with one hand, and there are toys that attach to the side so they won't fall to the floor. There is another toy that snaps to the tray and makes fun noises and plays music, so my daughter stays entertained while I make dinner or get her food ready. I have only one complaint about this chair; the ruffles around the seat are made of a different material than the rest of the seat and are not easy to clean.

We have the 2005 Edition and LOVE IT!
by kirkebaby ,Jul 12 '06
Pros: everything is washable/easily cleaned; it reclines and moves/lots of positioning; good price
Cons: none!
This is the best chair ever. Everything is washable or dishwasherable, it is on casters so you can move it around everywhere and it reclines so baby is comfortable at any age. We have another at Grandma's and it doesn't recline and so it feels like the baby is falling forward and it is cloth seating (which you have to wash and they always get dirty!) We miss the Fisher Price when we are at Grandma's!

~ Wonderful ~ The Best I've Ever Purchased ~
by lexysmommy ,Jan 04 '06
Pros: I have not yet found a thing wrong with this chair.
Cons: Kind of costly, but definitely worth the $$$ paid.
I started a daycare and purchased my first one of these in September of 2005 from an older couple that no longer needed it for their traveling grandson. At 20.00 it was a great deal. I loved it so much that I had to have a matching one but this time paid 3x as much, but it was worth it. Now I own 2 of them and need a third for the growing business. I have no complaints or hesitation about spending 75.00 to buy another. This chair is perfect and I love the fact that serving 3 meals does not warrant complete tray removal and overhaul. It is so easy to change the trays and due to the T section the straps are never used and the children sit so comfortably. I absolutely love this chair!!!

I registered for this high chair because I liked the dishwasher safe removable tray. This is only one of a number of fantastic features. The height adjustment is a plus ( no more stooping over the high chair)as is the reclining seat which is useful when baby first starts solids. The chair folds flat and has tray storage on the back, which is also useful if you have a small kitchen. I think this high chair is just as good if not better than many of the high end (and high price) chairs. As a mom of three I highly recommend this chair.

A great choice for a good price.

Pros: Casters W locks,Removable Cover/5pt harness,7 Hight Adjustments, 1 hand tray removal
Cons: Legs don't lock in the folded position, lifting chair by the seat changes height adjustment.
The chair we purchased has 4 casters W locks/7 hight adjustments/Removable washable seat cover/removable washable 5pt harness/Dishwasher safe insert tray/1 hand tray removal/Chair folds for storage/Has a link-a-do type toy.
One of the greatest things about this chair is the max weight of 50lbs. Most chairs have a limit of 30-35lbs which limits the amount of use you get out of them. It is light weight, and easy to move. It takes some time to put together, but isn't to difficult, and it comes with great instructions...like all Fisher Price products. At $119.00 CND I think it is a reasonably prices chair that does everything you need it to do. I would recommend this chair to anyone who asked.

Fisher Price Healthy Care High Chair is a great buy!

Pros: Dishwasher safe feeding tray, easy tray removal with only one hand, vinyl cover machine washable
Cons: Baby food side tray was only in the way so I never used it.
This was an excellent high chair. My daughter used hers until she was almost 3 years old! I hated to see it go! She was very comfortable in it and played play-doh and worked on art projects (finger paint) in her chair with no complaints.
