This washer seems very good. and i work in a machine shop and i get oil on my cloths.  and it cleans most of it off. If i use soak mode it gets it all off.

My washer stopped draining good this week and it started to make some kind of noise. I thought i was going to spend 200.00 to get it fixed. But a laid it down on the floor and took the hose off the pump and found a penny in it. I took the penny out and now it runs good.

make sure you take your coins out of your cloths before you use the washer!

Pros: Easy to use, plenty of settings, gets clothes clean,fast spin cycle and a great value.
Cons: It is not the prettiest looking machine nor does it look high tech.

after a horrible experience with a Maytag front loading machine. (see review under Maytag) We purchased this Fisher Paykel. This is a great washing machine that does everything that they say it does. It is easy to use has a large capacity and gets clothes almost dry. Great price too!

Pros: Cleans well (when it works), seems to cycle quickly which saves a lot of time
Cons: Falls apart, needs constant maintenance, few service techs in USA

We purchased a new home and this machine came part of the home appliance package. Not only has this machine cause thousands of dollars in damage to the home (e.g. water spilling over), but we have spent literally hundreds of dollars in troubleshooting everything from the pump to the motor. I'm not impresses with the Fisher Paykel support and especially their technicians. We still have no resolution to the issues and have opted simply to purchase a new machine without a problem.

I had my Kenmore machine for 13 years and it STILL was running when we built this house. I am so frustrated that I can't help but warn users that this machine is a pile of crap.

Pros: Quiet;Cleans excellent;and low energy cost.Stainless tub.
Cons: Lid looks cheap;but it will never rust. That's all for now.

We bought the HE4t from our local Sears store first; even though I read they had problems with excessive vibration. Well the stories are true. I had it back at the store in 1 hour.
Now it was my choice. After I had researched the Fisher & Paykel washer and dryers I had made up my mine. My wife thought they looked a little cheesy. But after doing about 8 loads in it she was very impressed with how clean the clothes came out and how dry they were. And I was impressed with the quietness being our room is against the laundry room. We haven't found any negatives about the machine yet. The plastic lid does look cheap; but at 250lbs I laid across it to hook up the hoses and it didn't give. They are also compact.The washer only uses 223kwh. Compared to 400-430 on other top load like maytag oasis.

We bought the EcoSmart about a month ago and it has been meeting all our expectations. It gives the clothes a thorough wash and the spin cycle does a nice job of wringing them out.

The preset cycles are a nice feature on the machine and also allow the user to make adjustments to temperature and spin speed if desired.

During the spin cycle, I have noticed the machine does shake a bit on the highest setting, but the machine footings do not move.

Overall I have found it to be a well built machine and hopefully it will be a workhorse for years to come.

They are awful! Takes 4 ever to wash & dry. Clothes come out so wrinkled. I could write so much,but not enough room. The company could care less about my complaints. Won't return my calls. I wish I never bought them. My old Sears W/D were 100 X's better. My advice,don't buy them they are terrible.

Cons: This brand is not one that people know. Some people won't like the plastic lid.

I bought this machine for $509 at the Sears Outlet. It is so smart! The spin cycle saves a lot on the dryer time. I don't know what that means in energy dollars but it saves time for me. I have three kids and time savers are a must. I do several loads a day and I am looking forward to using this machine for a long time. It has "delay" cylcles just like my dishwasher. The lid lock is a great feature. It can wash comforters and sleeping bags with ease. The water softener feature is great. No more of those fabric softener containers!I can't wait to buy the dryer when mine goes out!

Cons: clothes are almost too dry when the load is done

This is a top load machine that uses energy like a front loader. It uses very little water and very little detergent compared to our old top loader. The clothes come out of the machine so dry, relatively speaking, that the dryer can keep up with the washer now. But it also means that clothes left in the washer a little while have more of a tendency to wrinkle. The washer spins so fast in the spin cycle that it sounds like a jet engine winding up in the distance. That can be a little disconcerting the first few times. The panel has lots of lights and lots of sounds, which is also a little confusing at first.

Cons: Terrible design

I have had my Fisher and Paykel washer for less than a year and the push buttons to control the machine have already failed. Since the electric panel has failed, there is no way to turn the machine on or off. A terrible design for what should be a simple machine.

Pros: The fast spin is awesome- my dry time is cut in half!

I love my new F & P EcoSmart Washer! It replaced a 22 year old GE that I was quite attached to. I bought the Fisher and Paykel because of the energy efficiency, the 2 year warranty (not the standard 1 year on all the other brands), and good word of mouth. I also like the direct drive concept where the less parts there are the fewer things that can go wrong. This is a washer that just makes sense. From everything I've experienced thus far I would suggest it to friends & family.

Pros: High speed spin cycle, cleans clothes very well.
Cons: No separate bleach dispenser. Only three time delay options.

I purchased the Fisher Paykel approximately two months ago and I am very satisfied with this washer. It replaced my Maytag Neptune top loader (which I hated - very long wash cycles, twisted clothes, leaving clothes very wrinkled, did not clean clothes well). The Fisher Paykel cleans clothes very well. High speed spin cycle reduces drying time. The washing machine does what it suppose to - cleans clothes without damaging them. It is quiet and easy to use. I wish it had a separate bleach dispenser and more than three time delay options (1 hr, 3 hrs, and
9 hrs.)

SINCE I PURCHASED MY FISHER AND PAYKEL TOP LOAD WASHER IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A PAIN, WAS TOLD THIS MACHINE WOULD HANDLE THE AMOUNT OF LOAD THAT I WASH WEEKLY, INSTEAD IT IS COMING UP WITH ERROR CODES THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A REPAIRMAN TO COME OUT AND FIX. I FEEL I WAS MISLEAD THAT THIS MACHINE COULD HANDLE HEAVY LOADS AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE BEST ON THE MARKET BY A LOWES SALES ASSOCIATE. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE MACHINE FIXED SEVERAL TIMES, WHICH IS FUSTRATING BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG...DUE TO THE CODES. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS WASHER OR ANY OTHER PAYKEL AGAIN.

I just bought this today to replace a 5 year old
GE washer with a burned out motor. I bought a scratched one at Lowe's for $500, which was $100 off the regular price. I took it home, hooked it up and ran two loads of laundry through it, and it works great. The high speed spin really does dry the clothes out quite a bit more, and the stainless steel tub looks durable. I have a family of six, so this machine will get a good workout. This washer has a direct drive motor and few moving parts, but it has a complex electronic system, so I will update this review after I have used it for a while. It has a somewhat rounded plastic top, which I think looks fine, but a little different.

I bought my Fisher at Donkers Hometown Appliances.  That was the best purchase I have ever made!  It does everything I want it to do and I can also wash my kingsize heavy comforters in it with no problems whatsoever.  I have 7 ppl in my family, and can get the laundry done in no time at all.  Noone could every get me to stop using my fisher.  When this dies I WILL DEFINATELY BUY ANOTHER ONE!!!!

Pros: Delayed timer for areas with variable hourly power rates. Waterlevel sensing--saves more power, resources, time.
Cons: Would love an MP3 player built in....I don't know...can't think of any cons.

We find this machine to be quiet, attractive, efficient, effective, economical, and inexpensive compared to other models we looked at. If there were a 6th star, that's what we'd give it! GREAT JOB FISHER & PAYKEL!!
