Pros: Interesting, varied menu; funky interior; well-prepared food. Cons: A bit pricey for Arlington.
Last night my fiance I ventured over to Flora, located in our hometown of Arlington, Massachusetts (just ten miles or so outside of Boston). We were looking to celebrate a little. Not a big celebration- we'd both had a hard week, and we were looking to...
Pros: beautiful interior Cons: can be chilly in the winter
Flora, located in an old bank building in East Arlington, is a great spot for a romantic dinner. The restaurant has great atmosphere -- it's uniquely decorated, with small tables and funky fixtures -- and the food is good too.

Pros: great food, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor, fair prices for high quality experience Cons: no lunch service
We've gone here probably ten times since they opened in 1996 and it seems to be getting better and better. The service staff is friendly and attentive without being intimidating. The decor (which was greatly improved by an addition 2 years ago), is stylish and comfortable. The food is superb and the wines are very fairly priced. I don't know what 'expensive for Arlington' means, since I assume the costs of ingredients and labor etc. aren't discounted for businesses outside Boston/Cambridge, but it is a bargain when compared with similar restaurants in the city! Try it, you'll like it.
