  • Why I like Force Fins

    Aug 6, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Comfortable, small and convenient. No leg cramps
Cons: Possibly greater air consumption due to faster kick cycles.

Summary: Force Fins are great for beginning divers because they’re so easy to use. Standard fins can feel awkward at first, somewhat like wearing snow skis for the first time. Force fins are more like slippers. I think Force Fins help reduce some ... read more

  • Swim to win

    Apr 16, 2005 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
    Pros: Stroke and strength development
    Cons: Expensive, lists around $100

Summary: Best all around swim fin to develop strokes and strength, but one of the most expensive swim fins. Flexibility helps prevent cramps and encourages streamlined body orientation and rotation in freestyle. Minimal interference with fast turns. Available ... read more

  • Suitable for Pool Work

    Aug 12, 2000 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: Comfort, suitable for lap swimming
Cons: overpriced, limited use profile, unpredictable customer service

Summary: I bought a pair of Slim Fins to do my daily pool work, and am generally satisfied with their comfort and suitability for this purpose. They are relatively small compared to other fins and significantly more flexible, but this combination produces just ... read more

  • Different kind of fin

    Jul 25, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: not as hard to kick
    Cons: little power, too wide

Summary: I have worked as a divemaster for a few years now and I find that people either love the force fin or hate it. If you have never used fins before, force fins are a bit more forgiving if your kick is not good, although they are too wide and usually you ... read more

  • This is a fantastic fin

    Jun 21, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: no more cramps, more powerful kick
Cons: none that I can think of (except that they look a little funny)

Summary: I bought Force Fins on a tip from a dive shop owner after I told him I was having problems with the fins I bought at the time of my certification. With my old fins (by Wenoka), I had trouble diving in cold water, with the associated drag from my dry ... read more

  • Worth every cent !!!

    Jan 18, 2000 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: * * * * * * * (see below)
    Cons: * * (see below)

Summary: I am a bit of an eccentric person, and my decision to buy ForceFin Pros was dictated by both aesthetics AND technical characteristics. After waiting for four months, I finally got to try them out on a scuba diving trip to Thailand's Similan Islands, ... read more

  • Greatest of all fins

    Jun 24, 2009 by
    Not rated yet
Pros: Strongest stroke without knee stress.
Cons: Less effective for offshore speed.

Summary: Have used Force Fins for diving and the smaller Slim Fins for swimming about 15 years. Force Fins are irresistable for shore diving because of maneuverability. Mares Quattro may be better for offshore, especially drift. Slim Fins are irreplaceable for ... read more
