Pros: Excellent story many teens and adults can relate to. Cons: Mature subject matter, some parents will definitely not approve
I first read Forever by Judy Blume when I was about 11 years old. At the time, it was the early 80s and the book was 'forbidden' by teachers and mothers everywhere. I remember coming home from school only to face my mother who was ...
Pros: Strong heroine who shows maturity and responsibility Cons: The heroine often seems unreal because of her maturity and responsibility
When Katherine, a high school senior, starts to get more serious with Michael, everyone assumes they're having sex. Her grandmother warns her about pregnancy and venereal diseases. Even her younger sister, Jamie, makes the logical jump. Katherine, ...

Pros: It's still Judy Blume Cons: It's far from Judy at her best.
I once read that Judy Blume said she wrote this book for her daughter, who had been reading books wherein girls had sex and bad things happened to them. She wanted her mother to write a story where a girl had sex and turned out okay. "Okay" is...
Surprise, Judy Blume’s Forever was on the ALA Banned Books list…again. I can’t for the life of me figure out why any mother in America would want to stop her daughter from reading this book. I’m pretty sure my mother was relieved.
Pros: Very educational for early teens. Cons: Not suitable for Blume's usual reader's.
Growing up I was a huge Judy Blume fan. I don't think that there is a book of hers that I ever passed up. Why? Because she told the truth. Judy Blume answered the questions that we were always to afraid to ask. She also never told her stories...

There is a tattered copy of this book in every library...
I mistakenly picked up "Forever" when I was nine years old, recognizing Judy Blume's name from some of my favorite books at the time, "Starring Sally J. Freedman as...
Pros: sexy scenarios that'll keep the book under the mattress Cons: good girls gone soft make me sad
Blume writes:
"In the old days girls were divided into two groups— those who did and those who didn’t. My mother told me that. Nice girls didn’t, naturally. They were the ones boys wanted to marry. I’m glad those days are over but I still...
Pros: Probably more educational than sex ed class in middle school Cons: absolutely no plot
Okay, when you hit your early teens, anything with the letters "s-e-x" is very intriguing to you, probably because you're not supposed to know about it. "Forever" by Judy Blume is no exception.
Blume is traditionally a writer for...
Pros: enchanting Cons: the end shouldve been more touching
The main character, a seventeen year old girl, falls blindly in love...forever. In the end, not to spoil the story for you fine readers, but there really is no surprise ending. Whatever happens is something that always happens to these young girls...
Forever: Definitely not for younger readers by lyuba ,Mar 22 '06
Pros: It's awesome Cons: None
Definitely a good educational book for teenagers. It addresses many problems that most people tend to have in their lives, and Judy Blume talk about it openly. The book itself is very good, especially in expressing the feelings that Katherine had for Michael and how she felt afterward when met Theo. The book is very easy to read, makes you keep going until you are finished. The book is awesome.
I absolutely loved this book. It not only has a great plot, but it also helps teach teens about relationships and they dont always last forever. It does not promote unprotected sex because the main character gets prescribed birth control pills. I would suggest this book to all teenagers because you can learn a lot from it.
Pros: Realistic Cons: Might be a bit graphic for children, made for young adults.
This book is definetely made for older teens to read. Its a story of first love. It's excitement, it's happiness and it's pain. Informative book for girls it's realistic and teaches a lesson.Great book
