Pros: Unbelievably quiet; super-clean clothes; nearly dry after spin. Cons: Door cannot be reversed.
After our Maytag top-loader started to have transmission problems in less than 5 years, we decided to take the plunge and buy a front-loading machine. The predominant reason for plunking down substantially more for a washing machine was an article at ...
A valuable review is for a product in use for one year. Here is the history on our atf6700fs. Bought new at Sears one year and one week ago. After one week the electronic door lock malfunctioned making it not possible to operate. Warranty service ...
Pros: Energy efficient, less water, quicker washing, cleaner clothes, faster drying. Cons: Must have pedestals in my opinion. Detergent dispenser could be improved.
Fantastic. Everything I could wish for. We didn't need the steamer option and the fancy colors offered on some washers, so I researched looking for a good buy; and this is the best out there. The price difference was unbelievable ...
Pros: Quiet, very clean clothes, very dry after spin cycle Cons: Water in the dispensing containers
When my 7 year old Kenmore Calypso top loader finally ate one of my sheets and it could not be removed, I decided to bite the bullet and get a new front load washer. After doing a lot of research, I decided that most seemed to be about the same in ...
Pros: Great features Very quiet Holds alot Clothes come out nearly dry
Cons: Smelly, moldy clothes and towels!!!
I bought the Fridgidair Affinity washer after our 20 year old washer bit the dust. I loved it right off the bat. It has some great features and it is really quiet. I can do all my laundry in about 1/2 the time it took me before because it can wash more ...
Pros: The spin cycle gets the clothes pretty dry. Cons: Tears clothes regularly and goes through random moldy spells, making our clothes reek.
I've owned the washer for 3 years now and can say with confidence that it has two huge flaws. #1 It rips/tears clothes on a regular basis. The clothes get caught between the metal and rubber along the opening of the washer and as the spin cycle ...
Pros: Can't think of any pros besides, well, it looks pretty. Cons: Dirt buildup where I cannot clean it, causing terrible odors.
After a couple of months I started noticing really bad odor on laundry, especially towels. I have always left the door open and always used HE detergent. Upon investigation I found this is a common problem with many front loaders, including this one. Why ...
Frigidaire Affinity ATF67000F Front Load Washer by tammy0214 ,Jul 04 '08
Pros: Beautifully clean clothes
Many options/cycles Cons: The spin cycle is insanely crazy and LOUD
I can not believe this unit is even allowed on the market! We were excited to hear how quite the wash cycle is. When it came to the spin cycle, however, the machine goes crazy bouncing around the laundry room, pulling away from the wall, banging into the dryer! You actually need a 200 pound person to put their weight on the machine while it is on the final spin cycle!
The clothes do come out beautifully clean and nearly dry but it is not worth the inconvenience of not being able to leave the house while the laundry is on for fear that you will come home to a flood in your house! I have tried all of the settings for the spin cycle and even on slow spin the house shakes and it is extremely noisy during that cycle! (I may have a lemon)
Pros: Clean clothes, quiet running with no vibration and minimal water useage. Cons: A single article, such as a towel, needs a balancing article to spin dry.
Our last Maytag top loader had transmission problems after only two years. In lieu of repair costs, we decided to try our first front loader and chose the Frigidaire Affinity ATF6700F after reading reveiws in Consumers Report.
We purchased the machine at Sears at a price of approximately half that of other deluxe front loaders. But the washer has more options than necessary for our household.
If you haven't tried a front loader take the plunge. The Affinity is a quiet operator with minimal vibration. It uses so little water that one wonders how the clothes get so clean.
We have been using the washer for nine months, so this is not a "love at first sight" review.

Pros: Quiet, fast spin, simple instructions, easy to load Cons: none
After using public laundries for many years I finally bought a new Frigidaire front load washer from Sears. Such a difference, to be able to wash clothes in my own home.
I have run through only about half a dozen loads but I feel this machine is very well designed and does everything (and more) that I could desire. I especially like the fact that the controls are up front, instead of at the back where they're hard to see and operate.
Before the machine was delivered, I built a wood platform about 14 inches from the floor to elevate it and make it easier to load.
Pros: Uses less water, very quiet, clothes come out much cleaner than top loader. Cons: The cycle won't spinout with my bath mat in, it comes out dripping wet.
I have a cotton bath rug about 2' by 4'. I have tried to wash it, but everytime it goes to spin, the tub will not spin, it just slowly turns one way and then the other. I have tried balancing the load, everything, but the rug comes out so wet and heavy I have to take it to the local laundry mat to spin it out so I can put it in the dryer. All my other laundry, towels, etc. come out great...I just can't get the rug to spin out. Does my machine require service or is this normal? My previous machine was a 20 year old toploader that was still running and never had a problem spinning the water out of my bath mat. My children gave me the Affinity washer and dryer for Christmas, I love it, but going to the laundry mat every month to wash a bath mat is no fun.
Pros: None, terrible product. Would never buy again. Cons: Piece of garbage machine. Terrible warranty.
This is the worst washer I have ever experienced. First your clothes will smell moldy/mildewy. Second the door lock mechanism will break due to the door sagging. Third 1 month after the warranty expired my washer is done. It has quit working, will not drain or fill and shuts down. Probably a pump motor or something. My last GE washer lasted me over 4 years before I sold the house and left the washer because I got this one. What a waste of money.
Replacement for 10 year old Frigidaire Front Load Machine by jancowan ,Feb 05 '09
Pros: Low water usage - Timer - Price - clean clothes Cons: Nothing so far
We have had a Frigidaire FWT445 for over ten years and the drum eventually corroded. Being completely satisfied with this machine, we had no problems replacing it with the new Frigidaire Affinity model. I believe that this machine uses even less water than our old model and is just as quiet and efficient. Knowing how long the cycle has to run is a bonus on this machine. We never have had any problems with mold or smells with our old machine and don't expect to get any with our new one. We even qualify for a rebate from our Water authority of $130 making this machine the best value front loader on the market.
