cooled the room ok, but so loud i could not sleep. no rattling or vibrating - just the woosh of air so forceful its like a train. and that's on low. actually there is almost no difference in sound from low to high - they are all so loud. go to a store like best buy where they have them out and you can listen to them all side by side. i didnt do that first, and had the hassle or returning this fridgidaire after a few nights. they had a no hassle return and i listened to the other models and bought a nice GL8000. no more sleepless nights.

If you want to sleep, listen to music, watch TV at the same time the a/c is on, this is NOT the model for you. The fan is powerfully noisy.
I hope I can return this and find a quieter model.

Window Air-Conditioner Unit is Outstanding. It maintains temperature by degrees instead of low, medium and high. The front panel is hinged and easily opens to display the filter. After 8 hours the temperature is maintained and comfortable unlike some units which freeze you in the morning. Appearence is standard looking, but the air exhaust is sensibly designed. As a bonus, a remote control is part of the package!

It's true. You get what you pay for. In this case, I paid very little ($159)for Frigidaire's FAA086P7A. I bought it to quickly and economically cool a 12x18 ft. bedroom that gets a lot of sun. I've only had it 3 nights, and it's doing what I wanted admirably. Last night the room cooled from 80F to 72F in a little over 2 hours. That's the kind of performance I wanted. However, it is EXTREMELY noisy. Most of this noise is simply the powerful whoosh of air out of the machine. I can feel it clear across the room. Then there's the condenser, which clicks and clanks a bit as it cools. It sounds like a very powerful hair dryer with a high pitch whine. I didn't want a whisper quiet unit, I like white noise at night. This is noisier than I wanted, but at this price point I had to compromise. If it turns out to be durable (I can see styrofoam behind the air vents-oh well) I will be happy overall with this a/c.

Cons: Poor customer service and lousy return policy

I ordered an Aero Sport All-terrain Bed thru D!Mart Stores about a month ago. The bed turned out to be defective (it would not hold air). I followed the apparant return procedures and wanted a refund but the Customer No-Service at Aero Bed told me since I purchased it thru D!Mart I could only get an exchange. Aero Bed did send me a new mattress (I haven't tried it out yet so I don't know if it will hold air or not, I hope it will because I'm stuck with it). D!Mart wants to charge me shipping and a 15% restocking fee to return the bed. I feel D!Mart Stores return policy is lousy. I for one will never do business with D!Mart or Aero Bed again.
