  • Frontline Plus For Cats: powerful protection against fleas

Nov 12, 2006 by njchicaa is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Pets
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: effective in killing fleas, provides protection for up to one month
Cons: expensive, cats try to lick it off

Summary: One of the less-pleasant parts of cat ownership is dealing with the nasty little creepy crawlies that like to live on them. There's nothing quite like snuggling up with your cat in bed--they rub up against you, they purr, they roll over to have their ... read more

Pros: easy to find, easy to apply
Cons: fleas were back worse than ever after 2 weeks

Summary: For some reason this year we were hit really bad by fleas.  In the seven summers we’ve lived here, they were never a problem before.  Ticks were more of a problem than fleas.  Whether it was due to the mild winter we had or some ... read more

    Pros: Easy to use.
    Cons: Does not work.

Summary: I just spent around $100 on Frontline Plus to treat 5 cats, and all of them STILL HAVE FLEAS. 3 days after applying Frontline Plus I can see the fleas strolling happily through my poor cat's fur. I can see from other reviews here that I am not alone in ... read more

Pros: Everything about these 2 products...I am amazed.
Cons: Nothing shop around for cheap prices, dont buy from the vet!

Summary: I took my 5 month old pug to the vet for shots/checkup, and 2 days before I had given her a bath and hartz flea drops....they didnt do ANYTHING!!!! Lola still had fleas, so my vet gave me a free Capstar pill and a tube of frontline plus. Capstar ... read more

  • didn't work for my cats

    May 19, 2009 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: None, given the fact that it didn't work.
Cons: Expensive and just didn't do the job.

Summary: Frontline plus just didn't work for my kitties.  It did seem to reduce the number of fleas slightly at first (how can you really tell?), but certainly didn't eliminate them.  Within two weeks they seemed as bad as ever.  Very ... read more

Pros: good product, works well, available at vets or online
Cons: packaging hard to open, leaves greasy spot on coat

Summary: Having two cats that live outdoors on a farm in the country, fleas can be quite a challenge. I've used Frontline Plus on them about every 6 weeks and have never had a problem with flea infestation. My cats are not itchy and scratchy, and do not suffer ... read more

  • Large cat? You may want to rethink this product

    Oct 3, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Quick relief from fleas, easy application to cat, no bathing required!
Cons: Cost, shady labeling/marketing practices (I think), only seems to work on smaller animals.

Summary: Bottom line, Frontline Plus is very effective (and fast) on killing fleas if your cat is small to average sized. Read on if you have a big cat, you may want to think twice about this treatment. I’m going to try to keep this short. I have two cats – ... read more

  • Not very good, Only lasted two weeks if that

    Oct 2, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Reduces fleas for a couple weeks.
Cons: Does not get rid of all fleas and doesn't last for a month.

Summary: I have one indoor cat, but there are a lot of strays outside my house. And because of the strays, I get a lot of fleas carried into my home and onto my indoor cat they go. I had tried frontline plus for cats in the past and it worked fairly well so I ... read more

  • Frontline Doesn't Work for Us

    Jul 30, 2007 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: We feel like we tried something nice for our pets and our vet.
Cons: It was an empty gesture because the Frontline doesn't work and costs a lot.

Summary: We have two indoor cats, who have both the run of the house and their own play/sleeping room on a porch. Our home has no carpet, and few rugs. Heck, we don't even have much furniture at all. They have been treated with Frontline Plus for Cats every month ... read more

  • The only flea and tick treatment that really works

    Jul 1, 2007 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: It really works, you won't see a flea or tick once you apply this.
Cons: It is a bit expensive, but a little goes a long way.

Summary: Frontline plus is the only flea and tick treatment that I recommend to my friends for their dogs. I live in a hot climate and own a small long haired dog. In the summer he was always plagued by ticks. Every time he went into a field he would come out ... read more

    Pros: There were no pros
Cons: Did not kill fleas at all, Expensive, Bad customer service

    Pros: Easy to apply
Cons: Didn't eliminate fleas at all

    Cons: Pricey but worth it.

Summary: Hanna went for her yearly check up. Once again I bought a box of 3 applications of Frontline Plus. I’ve been using it since it came out in 2000 for all our dogs. About the product and claims: I saw online that this is for dogs and ... read more

Cons: This product is expensive and ineffective.
