Pros: easy Cons: only available in vet's office
Before my vet suggested Frontline to my two dogs, I was covered with flea bites. My dogs love to sleep with me and bed and I just couldn't tell them no. So night and day I suffered through the red, itchy marks until my friends, tired of seeing me...

Pros: Kills Ticks and Fleas Cons: Can be expensive
Frontline is a wonderful product. Not only does it work for fleas, (and sometimes for more than 30 days) but it also kills ticks. This is a must with 2 70 lbs. dogs who have the run of five acres in the Florida woods and sand.
I use...

Pros: Doesn't wash off a swimming dog Cons: A bit greasy for a day or so
Frontline Top Spot is highly recommended by most veterinarians. It is very simple to apply and is also very, very safe.
It works so well even on dogs that like to swim daily. After 48 hrs. it does not wear off! I have used Advantage and Program and...

Pros: Easy to use and lasts a long time Cons: None
This is a great flee and tick repelent. This product is extremely easy to use. All one needs to do is open the package and drip its contents on the back of your pet. The dog must stay dry for a few hours so it doesn't come off. The repelent lasts up...

Simply THE BEST
by petsitterbarb ,Nov 02 '03
Pros: Used properly, IT WORKS! Cons: Some dogs might be allergic, etc...
Talk with your vet!
As a professional petsitter and certified dog trainer, I recommend Frontline constantly. It works best when the dog has not just been bathed, as the natural oils in the coat are important to spread this product from hair follicle to hair follicle. I just wish this product had been invented back when I was breeding/showing, and had more pooches. SOOOO much easier and safer than those awful dips! We don't even have to treat the yard anymore, so are cutting expenses there, as well as using fewer chemicals.

Expensive Product, but Works Great!
by dumpling2002 ,Mar 17 '07
Pros: Works fast and is water-proof! Cons: Leaves an oily spot where it is applied.
This product is a little pricier than other brands, but it works. I use it once a month on my Maltese, and she never gets fleas, even after being around other dogs with them. I love this product because it does not wash off with water. That means that you can bathe your pet, and not worry about the product's effectiveness. It also causes no irritation to my pet's skin.

Frontline TopSpot Plus Stops Working!
by cindyluhu ,Mar 24 '05
Pros: Frontline works... Cons: but Frontline doesn't continue working. 3 months?? Baloney.
I used Frontline TopSpot on my 3 small dogs for years, and it worked fine. Two yrs ago it started working for only 3 wks at a time. Now it's down to 2 wks. I even switched to the more expensive "Plus". The company insists my house or yard must be infested. This is positively not so.

FrontlinePlus
by frenchlady94 ,Jul 13 '06
Pros: highly effective, easy to apply, no strong smells Cons: none
I have used many different products, from topical to sprays to powders and nothing comes close to Frontline Plus on how effective it is!
I like the fact that not only does it kill the adult fleas, it also kills the larvae and eggs.

worth every cent
by K2000kid ,Jun 16 '06
Pros: easy to apply VERY effective Cons: first 24 Hrs pet will scratch insanely as fleas react to the medicine
Well I won't go on about how well this stuff works
however you should know that for like the first 24 hrs after applying it the fleas will go NUTS in your pets coat
driving him nuts too I thought this was an allergic reaction but after 24 hrs the pet calms down and you just have to pick the dead fleas out of their coat.

Frontline burned my dog
by staynbroke ,Jul 24 '06
Pros: Works on most animals Cons: Burned one of my two dogs very badly.
I will NEVER use Frontline on one of my dogs again. I have 2 dogs, I put this product on both of them a few days ago. One dog is fine, but the other got SEVERE chemical burns from this. She is in a lot of pain and she's got blisters like crazy, which are now starting to ooze. I am taking her to the vet this afternoon. Some dogs just seem to have a reaction while others don't. I will never again use it on her. Please be careful and watch any new animal you try this on.

Frontline
by chainreader ,Jul 12 '09
Pros: Perhaps it works on some dogs. Cons: Frontline does not last the 30 days it claims to act.
The vets here in Hampton Roads that I have been to seem to prefer Frontline to Advantage but even the vet tells me that Frontline is not as good as Advantage for fleas but that I need Frontline for ticks. Frontline does not work for my dog. He is allergic to flea bites so it doesn't help that the flea dies AFTER it bites him. He is tearing out his hair due to flea bites. Recently, just three weeks after applying Frontline I noticed an infestation of fleas on him. I'm going back to Advantage. I can not bear to see my dog tearing out his hair in his misery. I'll pick the ticks off him myself if I have to.
