Fuji FinePix A500 Digital Camera Great! by skitz4748 ,Jan 15 '07
Pros: Small size, macro feature, simple to work. Cons: Don't know of any.
This camera has a small format to it. It is really easy to take anywhere. People in some of these reviews say fuzzy pictures, but I don't understand why. It may be they don't understand the two-step button. The picture taking button steps half way to focus the picture, then you push a little to snap the picture. The tactile is kind of light feel between these two steps and the people with the fuzzy pictures may be pushing the button all the way through without the focus step.
I get excellent sharp pictures both long range and macro view.
I had a Fuji 2650 2.0 MP the past 3 years and loved it. So simple to operate, and A500 is even easier to operate. Love it! Fuji all the way!
Good Buy-No Disappointment ! by oberfeldwebel ,Jul 15 '07
Pros: Takes very good picture for reasonably inexpensive camera. Buyer will not be disappointed. Cons: Uses up batteries quickly. Use only QUALITY re-chargeble batteries. Cheap batteries simply do not last.
The A-500 has good features and settings. To get best quality pictures use the features, read directions how to apply features if you are a novice user, ie., pictures of moving objects, sports action, close ups etc. I have taken amazing pictures of nature with this camera. Accessing features are a bit inconvenient due to accessing them through LCD screen, where as many cameras have access buttons on camera body.
Has a view finder, a must for outdoor use. LCD display screens are virtually impossible to view in sunlight. This was the reason I chose the A-500 over the A-700. Although, the A-700 had an audio feature with the video mode, a real plus if you use it a lot.
I bought this camera to replace a Kodak camera that kept breaking. My primary reason for choosing this camera was price. It was the most affordable at the time I purchased it. Generally speaking, I like the camera. I mostly use it to take pictures of my 15 month old daughter. Herein lies the problem, the camera is kinda slow so I end up missing some shots and some shots are blurred. But, the camera is light weight and focuses well. Another downside is the batteries, it uses AA batteries. I much prefer the kind that recharge. But again for the price you cannot beat this camera. For this price range I would definitely recommend it.
