Pros: Great screen, quick processor for routing & redrawing. Fantastic value. Cons: No carrying case included, more user memory is always helpful.
Wow. That's all I can say. I've been a GPS fan for almost 5 years now. I've owned a Garmin eMap, Garmin eTrex Vista, a Socket Bluetooth GPS that I used with my old PocketPC & laptop, and an iTrek Mouse GPS for use with my Treo 600 and laptop. I've ...
Pros: Inexpensive, compact, portable, easy to use. Cons: Limited memory size requires you to manage mapsets on your PC.
The Garmin Quest is a compact, easy to use and helpful multi-purpose GPS. It can be mounted in your car, where it has a friendly voice, or hand-held for your on-foot adventures. What's In The Box The Quest comes with an AC-charger and USB ...
Pros: Easy to use, great screen, lightweight. Cons: Manuals leave quite a bit to be desired, some mapping data is out-of-date.
I purchased this for an upcoming road trip and have been testing (playing with it) for a week now. I'm really pleased. It has done everything I was expecting it to do. First Impression The unit is smaller than I expected. The whole thing is only ...
Pros: "Via points", highly customizable, easy-to-use, excellent maps, sturdy mount, portable, amazing little display. Cons: Memory not expandable; battery cannot be replaced. No 3-D view, no touchscreen.
Within a week I purchased a Garmin Streetpilot c330, a Magellan Roadmate 300 (RM300), and the Garmin Quest. I kept the Quest -- it's not just a better value priced at hundreds less, it's actually a far better GPS. The Quest is effectively a ...
Pros: Small size, portability, battery operation, PC mapping included Cons: Small screen, somewhat limited memory, flimsy antenna
Are you navigationally challenged? Do you get lost going to the market? Do you like gadgets? If so, then you may want to consider buying a GPS navigator. Navigators use the US Army's constellation of satellites to locate your position on the globe. ...
Pros: small, light, fast, color, good UI, USB, re-charge while in car Cons: car mounting system, possibly a bit slow to get a position fix
I recently replaced my trusty Garmin GPS V with the Garmin Quest. This review compares and contrasts the Quest to its GPS V predecessor. ---------------------- Quest Pros, versus GPS V: * smaller (you really can't appreciate from the dimensions ...
Pros: Small size, easy to read screen, perfect performance. Cons: Would like a screen protector and, as always, more memory
My wife bought me the Garmin Quest for my birthday. I travel for business, and often end up in some very remote/rural areas, so this was a great item for me. And, the timing was perfect, as I would be traveling to California from Missouri the next ...
Pros: Works perfectly, small size, voice prompts, easy to use Cons: None!
I moved to Boston about nine months ago and was having the worst time driving around. Basically, I was constantly lost. I couldn't drive anywhere by myself because I always had to have someone there to navigate for me. That was until I received a Garmin ...
Pros: pocket sized, downloadable maps, color screen, voice prompts, lithium battery Cons: small screen size, voice prompts only with 12V charger
This very reasonably-priced GPS has the color screen and routing features of the big guys, but small enough to slip into your shirt or coat pocket and run off the built-in lithium-ion batteries. It's 100+MB memory will hold detailed maps and points of ...
Pros: A very versatile unit at a great price with very good bundled software. Cons: Lack of internal memory, location of speaker.
Just bought this last month for a two week road & trail trip through Adirondack Park and New York. Let me caveat by saying this is my first GPS so I don't have anything to compare to. I purchased this unit because of favorable reviews and the desire ...
Pros: Internal battery, included auto kit & street level CD Cons: 115MB fixed memory for some, I'm undecided, nothing else yet
I like to travel by motorcycle. That means that I am usually alone, and even when I'm not, you can't exactly break out a map at any time. Traveling by motorcycle also means you are limited to what you can carry. More local area maps means less space ...
Pros: Economical. Easy to use after short learning period- Excellent audio- quickly recalculates after missed turns. Cons: Screen a tad small but OK. Expandable memory desirable but capacity is adequate.
Took it to Las Vegas on the second day I had it and it got me to my hotel at night in spite of 3 construction detours which forced me to repeatedly ignore the unit's voice commands- but no worry- it quickly recalculated each time and rerouted me ...
Pros: Great pocket-sized navigation unit goes from car to trail to boat. Long battery life. Cons: Smaller screen size than some other car units. Not the easiest alpha-numeric inputing.
Sometimes great things come in small packages. Small enough to keep in a shirt pocket, yet crammed with names and addresses of retail stores, restaurants, shops, hotels and much more -- all at a fraction of the price of dealer installed DVD-based ...
Pros: Size, color screen Cons: Ease of use, reliability, car docking station
This GPS has a nice size, good color image, but is not very intuitive or easy to use. Some of the selections are not in a logical order. The docking station for window attachment is terrible and difficult to use, although the suction cup and adjustment are good. I have been advised by my receiver to turn into a rock wall and a soybean field on two different occasions recently. In both cases I needed specifics although I had a general idea where I was. On one occasion I was told that I was off route when I was on a road that has been there for years with no other alternative close by. Having used the Garmin for a month and in an area in which I have some ideas of where I am, I am not sure how much I would trust it in an area where I was clueless.
Bad Unit, Even Worse Customer Support by foofer ,May 01 '06
Pros: LCD changes between night time and day time driving. Voice prompting is an excellent feature. Cons: I received a bad unit, an unattractive refurbished replacement, and an ill mannered c.s.
After reading the reviews on this unit, I felt certain that the Garmin Quest was the GPS for me. Purchased a new one in January of 2006, and it died April 1, 2006. I sent the unit to Garmin, only to have them send me a refurbished model. The refurbished unit had scratches and poor audio prompting. The issue has not been resolved. Later, I spoke with the Garmin's customer support about downloading v.7 maps, and was never treated so rude in my entire life by customer support. I am very disappointed with the product and people at Garmin. Buyer Beware!
