  • GE Extra-Large Toaster Oven With Nonstick Interior 106686R

    Oct 26 '03
    Pros: Works well.
Cons: The outside does get hot, hot enough to cause a burn on the skin.

Summary: Before summer started, hubby and I realized that we needed a new air conditioner but weren't ready at the time to shell out the big bucks to have the old one replaced. Baking in our house became completely non-existent and the complaints started rollin ... read more

  • Warning! Fire Hazard!

    Jun 26 '05
Pros: A lot of features for the price
    Cons: A serious fire hazard

Summary: I bought the GE 106686R two months ago. It had a lot of nice features and seemed like a bargain. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to try them all before this thing caused a fire. I had put a pastry in and turned the toast timer knob to "light". A

  • Worked great when I first bought it

    Apr 11 '05
    Pros: Very energy efficient
Cons: None at all except for the flaw mentioned in my review.

Summary: You have a choice of baking, whereby just the bottom heating element heats up or you can broil which means just the top element comes on. However after a year, both heating elements came on and stayed on until I turned the knob to off. This of course

  • Stopped working in a year

    Jan 12 '05
Pros: The size, you can fit smaller casserole dishes inside it, and some bread loafs.
Cons: It started to not work properly within 10 months of use.

Summary: I bought this in November of 2003, and it completely stopped working in December 2004, at first just the top coils stopped heating,,and finally nothing worked. Very unsatisfied, I picked this one for the size, and the brand

  • I'M BACK!

    Jan 19 '04
Pros: This toaster oven is a must! The bread is perfectly toasted. The oven bakes well.
Cons: The outside gets very hot! There is a warning label on it.

Summary: The first toaster oven I had was a General Electric. I had it for about 15 years and loved it! I then purchased one bad toaster oven after another. Each toaster oven was worse than the previous one. I never got evenly toasted bread from any toaster

  • Caution!

    Jan 16 '04
Pros: Cooks well, even pizzas. Stays on longer than one hour for roasts.
Cons: Outside becomes very hot. Must have plenty of room to open door to the left.

Summary: I purchased this toaster oven because it was large enough to get my corelle ware into and had the "Stay On" feature. On the top is a caution, "Do not touch hot surfaces." This machine actually melted a surge protected cord to the back of it. I decided
