General Electric GHDA485NCS 24 in. Built-in Dishwasher

Pros: Good cleaning, saves water,silent
Cons: No option of using ONLY HEAT & DRY,it will come 'ON' ONLY WITH WASH CYCLE.

We bought with good faith GE GHDA485NCS dishwasher. Even though it does a good cleaning job, the machine cannot be used to only dry the utensils. Let us say that we are only two people in the house and we do not have full load of dirty dishes to fill ...

Pros: Cleans dishes well, like the hot start option, quiet, has a delayed start feature
Cons: Motor died after two years of use!!!!

We purchased all new GE Clean Steel appliances for our kitchen exactly two years ago.  We have had nothing but problems and now wish we could have our old but still working appliances back.

This summer it was our dishwasher's turn to die on us (last summer it was the refrigerator's turn).  Only after two years of operation in a household of now three people, the once quiet dishwasher's motor decided to start screeching and grinding during different times in the cycle.  The GE technician came out and replaced the motor at cost of $240! We are kicking ourselves for not getting the extended warranty on these GE appliances.  We once had total faith that we were buying quality GE products and now that faith has completely disappeared.  We will never again buy GE appliances!

Our old Kenmore dishwasher was eleven years old and never had a problem and was still running like a champ when we decided to "improve" our kitchen.  What a big mistake!
