Pros: Was basically quiet enough when new. I like the added heat button. Cons: Not cleaning, not draining, lots of soap residue, louder than should be. Can't choose cycle.
We have had a GE Quiet Power 3 dishwasher for just under 2.5 yrs (purchased for $479.95 without tax.) We have used it once a day on average. We have had trouble with dish soap remaining in the holder (many times the holder doesn't ever even open;) LOTS ...

GLD to get rid of it
by acf40241 ,May 27 '07
Pros: Cost, low water usage (supposedly) Cons: Dishes not clean, increase in hot water heater temperature
We are returning the GE GLD4400NWW after running it 6 times for 2 loads of unclean dishes. We installed it ran it 3 times to try and get 1 load of dishes clean. We called the GE service center who came out 2 weeks later to tell me I needed to increase the temperature of my hot water heater to activate the dishwasher detergent since the newer ones use less water. So we have to waste energy on the hot water heater 24/7 instead using more water. Which is worse? It seems like a bigger waste to have to keep the water heater at 140 degrees all the time than to use a few more gallons of water 2 times a week. So we increased the temp on the water heater even though we do not like our hot water that hot (140 degrees) when we had it set at 120 for 10 years with no problems with the old builder model (GE). Then we ran it 3 more times on the another load and still no clean dishes. I have ordered a Whirlpool so we'll see if it works any better.

I Love My GE Dishwasher!
by car743 ,Jan 13 '08
Pros: Cleans dishes great! Easy to use! Cons: NONE
I installed this dishwasher in November 2007. I have had no problems with it. It cleans dishes great and is a very quiet operating dishwasher. The settings are also easy to use.
The name Quiet Power 3 means what it states, It's a very quiet operating machine. Sometimes we can't tell that it's working!
I'm very happy with my dishwasher, Thank you General Electric Company!

Hooper Family GE Dishwasher
by hoopers7 ,Sep 29 '08
Pros: price color Cons: wet / dirty dishes difficult/time consuming to run racks hard to slide
We have had our GE 24 inch tall tub dishwasher GLD4400NBB for 3 full months and we have been very unhappy with it. The racks are difficult to slide when loaded with dishes, the dishes come out very wet and not clean, there is lots of dirt left in the bottom of the dishwasher. We called the service center only to be told that what we needed to do was turn up our hot water heater and use the hot cycle, which we have tried but the dishes still come out wet and the hot cycle takes 2 1/2 hours. No exaggeration! It is also difficult to stop the cycle once it has started. It takes several minutes to drain and restart if the wrong button is pressed.
