Pros: You get what you pay for. Good for an owner who wants simplicity.
Cons: Knobs on front of range. Not self-cleaning. Very basic range.

I purchased a new home a few years ago. The builder supplied this GE gas range as part of the package. I didn't upgrade knowing I would purchase another one a few years after living in the house. The purchase of a new gas range is not coming quick enough. On several occasions, I have found the gas on the range turned on, and I didn't even know it. One time I had left for work, was gone for 10 hours, and came home to the first floor of the house smelling of gas. The range resides on the second floor of a three story home. Luckily my dog was crated on the second floor while I was gone, or something terribly might have happened to my pet. The knobs on the front of the range are easily turned on if bumped in to. This leads to gas leaking out into the surroundings.

When cleaning the oven, be sure to read the Owners Manual prior to doing so. There is a coating on portions of the inside of the oven which oven cleaners are not to be sprayed on.

Stove is easy to use and hard to clean. Stock up like the other person said on scrubbing sponges. Today, the front glass shattered to the floor. Oven was cold. Found out that this is considered normal with this range. Will never purchase GE again.

Pros: Good looking stove. Clean lines. Easy to use timer/clock.
Cons: Can't trust oven temp. EVER. Always have to check gas knobs.

Stove came with home. Looked adequate. Worked great for about a year except the knobs turned by (almost)a breeze going by. Stove got more difficult to keep clean. Gas smell almost all the time (even after extensive testing). Now the oven temperature varies 50 to 150 degrees from use to use(using an oven thermometer). Glass in door has gotten impossible to see through. Can't get the "burnt" look off. After 5 years, its time to buy something, anything that will work reliably. Either "they don't make 'em like they use to" or that brand has lost something, such a shame. While we don't require a computer/stove, the next will have more features and I hope be safer (controls) to use around young people and us older people with bumper hips...
