Pros: attractive Cons: twists and misshapes clothes does not clean or rinse well loud
I bought this w/d set because they were supposed to be water saving and were attractive. Within the first few loads I realized the clothes were feeling soapy when done. I ran another cycle with no soap, opening the lid after the water filled and was ...
Pros: The washer will get your clothes and towels clean. Plus I like the custom cycles. Cons: Will not clean a queen or king size comforter.
Now that I've had my washer and dryer for over 2 years, I feel as if I can really give an accurate description of the pros and cons of this washer. Bottom line it will get your clothes clean with less water but more time. But it will not again will not ...
Pros: HUGE capacity, sleak look, energy efficient but still top-load Cons: Broke after 3 loads
My husband and I purchased a GE Profile washer and dryer a few weeks ago. It was delivered 8 days ago, since it had to be special-ordered. Since we purchased it from Best Buy (which we'll not do again, long story) and there was a 30-day satisfaction ...
Pros: Attractive Looks, High Efficiency, Technology with Function, Touchscreen Controls Cons: Bulky, Expensive, Long Term Functionality/Durability Not Yet Proven.
I'm told that LG makes this washer for GE and, as such, if you are a steadfast 'Buy American' type (like me), this may come as a suprise. GE manufactures nearly all of their consumer washer line in a plant in Louisville, Kentucky. This washer, ...
Pros: Washes everything from jeans & comforters to delicate lingerie...Even has pre-programmed settings for them. Cons: Plastic sloped top on the dryer. Also see review on water saving and My Cycles.
After 30 years with my old Whirlpool super capacity plus, it was time for a new washer. I wanted something better. I didn't want an agitator, but I wanted top load because of a bad back. I read the reviews on Epinions, and despite a few bad reviews, I ...
Pros: Cleans well, less wrinkling, drier, custom cycles, numerous presets, worth every penny! Cons: Cost, noise level, very sophisticated machine might be hard to use at first
Update 11/14/2007: So, now I've had my machine for a little over two years (actually, two years, two months and three days to be exact) and I bet you're wondering how it fares! Let me say I still LOVE IT. It still works the same as the day I ...
Pros: Nice to look at. Quiet. Cons: Destroys Clothes, does not clean clothes.
When Consumer Reports said this washer was hard on clothes, I thought, well how hard on clothes can it be? It's new agitator looked great and it seemed to sip water. I could not wait to see this washer in action as I am somewhat of a high tech junkie. ...
Pros: Large Capacity; ability to create and save your personal settings for any type load Cons: Computer board is extremely expensive to replace; Very poor repair service.
We purchased our washer in late January '05 and had been extremely happy with it's performance . . . . until the computer board died on us in early August that same year. Our dissatisfaction started with getting GE out here to fix it. It was virtually ...
Pros: None. Cons: Does not clean clothes. Twists and stretches clothes. Need to load heavier items first. Aarrghh!
It does not get clothes clean. It twists them in knots and stretches them to their limit. I have stood in front of this machine perplexed for the entire washing cycle, lifting the lid periodically just to see what the heck is going on in there. It ...
Pros: Huge wash capacity, very clean clothes, wide variety of pre-programmed wash cycles Cons: Pre-programmed dryer cycle selection needs improvement, instruction manual needs to be more detailed, clothes tangling
Last year my old clothes dryer wore out, so I went back to hanging my laundry out on a clothesline (thank goodness we live in a rural area and it was summer!) Then my washer followed suit a month later and I decided it was time to buy a new set. I ...
Pros: Platinum color is impressive to people who tour your laundry room. Cons: Tried this for 10 months, STILL want my small ugly ancient washer back!
I liked this washer and dryer first because i could get it in gray - but also because of it's large capacity. It's also a high-efficiency, aka environmentally friendly - so I doled out the many $$$$ for it. First i was very concerned about how noisy it ...
Pros: Very easy to use, quiet, gentle on laundry. Cons: Lengthy wash time, must load laundry before tub fills.
I looked into many washer-dryer combos as my husband agreed to a no-max allowance on my upcoming purchase. My realtor had problems with her Neptune, so I was a bit shy of that one. I researched many higher end models thoroughly and finally, despite ...
Hate this time consuming, loud, clothes twisting monster by nancyjean ,May 14 '09
Pros: Pros. Hmmm, let me think. Nope. I got nothing. Cons: Pretty much everything.I am reminded of that as I wrestle with every twisted load.
I hate this machine. You either let the machine decide how much water (not enough) or it is a full load, even if you are just tossing in a few things. When you let the machine choose, you will notice that a few articles of clothing end up plastered up against the drum, above the water line. The clothes get so twisted and knotted that any stain within the knotted area will still be there after the load finally gets done. Wet jeans tightly knotted up with shirts and sweats gets very heavy. And don't even think of putting knits it...unless you want it stretched out beyond recognition. It kept going off balance, even though I was careful when loading. They told me to wash like clothes with like clothes; that is, a load of underwear and tee-shirts, separately from a load of jeans and sweats. Oh yeah...two teenage boys. I have time for that. My old clunker (20 years) at the beach house does a far better job, and does it faster.
Pros: Nice looking appliance All different wash cycles Direct Drive Stainfinder Cons: NON YET!
After doing much research, I decided on the GE Profile Harmony. Since most stores didnt have it as a floor model, I did a special order and crossed my fingers for luck. I LOVE IT!!!!! So far, one of the best appliances I have. It has all special features that match the wash cycle to your article of clothing or blanket, etc. A must see before buying any other washer. It also does not have an agitator, but something called Direct Drive. Clothes do not come out twisted like a rope like some others.
DON'T BUY THIS MACHINE FLOODED THE HOUSE!! by annmike ,Dec 08 '08
Pros: None Cons: Scheduling of repairs, flooding of the house.
This machine is junk! Since buying it in 2006 GE has been out to repair it 6 times, and changed out the transmission on the second to last visit. The machine started to make noises and called GE once again. A week later the washer flooded the down stairs foyer and living room. This has been a pain ever since buying it. Wouldn't wish this machine on my worst enemy.
