Pros: Large tubs, sprayers in three sections without center pole running through middle of dishwasher. Cons: So far haven't found any cons, except for the large price range between stores.
Recently we replaced our old Maytag with GEs new Triton XL. My biggest complaint with the Maytag was one, space for large objects, pots, and pans and second, it didnt work anymore. The Maytag died a painful demise, death by tall glass. ...
Pros: Great capacity, will fit tall pots and cookie sheets on the bottom rack. Quiet. Cons: DOES NOT CLEAN THE DISHES!
If you are looking for a dish sanitizer rather than a dishwasher, then by all means buy this dishwasher! It DOES NOT CLEAN off even the smallest dried on food. Even if the food isn't dried on, it will end up being sprayed back on ALL of your dishes and ...
You know that commercial where they put a whole cake in the washer? by stryguy ,Jul 11 '05
Pros: Has an anti bacterial setting which is why we bought it. Cons: Better have an anti-bacterial setting as it doesn't clean anything actually off the dishes.
Well it sure wasn't this washer. The cake would have still been on the plate. Whole and almost untouched!
Honestly this washer is probably the worst dishwasher I've ever owned. I find myself scrubbing the dishes so throughly before putting them in the dishwasher just so they come out clean. I might as well add some soap to my scrubbing and call it a day.
Also the washer is completely unreliable. Within 2 years I've replaced the top two spray arms at the tune of $140 each. Last night I noticed that the top spray arm is again non-working. Siezed up so tightly I can barely move it by hand.
It's just a terrible washer. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
bad luck with the GE dishwasher by tacfarinas ,Apr 13 '05
Pros: matches our stove and refrigerator Cons: two costly repairs; inadequate cleaning
Our GE Triton XL is a little over two years old. Last year the control panel went bad, and the total repair cost was 150$ (the part was free, but the service was expensive). This year mid-level spray arm needed replacement, for a total cost (also labor) of 125. In addition, the plastic hardware has broken regularly, though the repairman had them send me a lot of replacements and I was able to install them.
Above all, though, the thing simply doesn't clean very well. The repairman has basically simply shrugged his shoulders, advising us to make the sure the water is hot. But the cutlery, in particular, is simply not clear unless you also scrub it.
Oh. A small design flaw, at least for me. It's never obvious whether you've turned it on or not.
