Garmin StreetPilotŪ c320 GPS Navigation Receiver - Cheap and Easy To Use

by dkozin dkozin is a Lead on Epinions in Electronics, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Mar 07 '07
Pros: Cheap, easy to use, mostly works well, features, graphics, voice turn-to-turn directions, durability
Cons: Slow startup, occasional accuracy issues
I did not really need a GPS Receiver. I usually drive to the familiar places and if I drive somewhere else, Mapquest or Google Maps are just a click away. But the GPS Receivers are cool and I would not mind having one when I travel. When Frys had the ...

Know exactly where you are (and are going) at all times! Costco.com $450!

by oman9 , Jun 17 '05
Pros: Never lost, POI directory, navigation data, good touch screen, voice prompts, very user friendly.
Cons: These are nits, glare on screen, POI data not 100% accurate, finger prints.
I drive all over for work. I go to new destinations on a regular basis and have relied on internet directions for years now. Actually the internet directions are correct about 95 % of the time, but it is a hassle to have to punch in where I’m going ...

GREAT, but not perfect

by mitch528 , May 03 '05
Pros: Small; Good touchscreen; lots of nice features; internal battery; fast satellite acquisitions.
Cons: Clunky proprietary mounting arm; robotic voice prompts; screen glare; Inaccurate map data.
This is the second automotive GPS unit I have owned, and this one is far superior to the first, and cheaper too (if you purchase from an online retailer). THE GOOD -------- 1. So small! The biggest part of this unit is the screen. Easily fits in ...

Amazing Unit for the price! ($350 at Costco.com)

by x_hobbes , Mar 27 '06
Pros: Super-easy, good accuracy, great voice prompts, nice mounting options, CHEAP!!!
Cons: Can't browse map in navigation mode; sometimes quirky directions
My wife decided to surprise me with a TomTom Go 300 for my birthday (~$550 at CircuitCity). Before I tore open the box to play with my new toy, I decided to take the unit back to the store and do a little more research on the various GPS units out there ...

You get what you pay for!

by jdproconsumer , Jul 26 '05
Pros: Great interface. 3D mode is excellent. Battery
Cons: Bad screen for day light, bad mount, late turn prompts.
I've been testing the C320 for the last week and I'll be returning it to the store shortly. I paid only $450, but the low price is a direct contributor to at least two problems I describe below. I'm comparing this unit with Magellan Roadmate 700 and ...

GREAT GPS SYSTEM

by wdai , Jul 20 '06
Pros: Intuitive User Interface. Fast Route Recalculation.
Cons: Weak Window Mount. Screen Glare on Sunny Day. Comes with 2 year old map data.
We were in the process of looking for a new house and after getting lost numerous times following google and mapquest directions, finally decided to purchase the Garmin C320. The Garmin C320 is a low budget GPS with non of the bells and whistles found in ...

Best value for 2007

by kbaxter , Feb 15 '07
Pros: Easy touchscreen navigation Intuitive menus Lots of setup flexibility Very reasonably priced
Cons: I didn't have it ten years ago. Maps are sometimes outdated
I love this thing. Two days after buying it I was ready to get another one to be the "floater" unit for visitors (I'm not giving mine up). First, you'll want to buy a 1GB SD card. These can be had for under $20 now and it will allow you to load the ...

Does not have human sense but a good unit anyway

by pastorsoh , Oct 17 '05
Pros: Rerouting, Size, Touch Screen, SD card instead of HD, Price
Cons: Inaccurate Maps, Some Menu Problems, Glare
You can get the unit's description from other reveiwers and from Garmin's own website. Here I will just share my experience with the unit. This is an excellent GPS, perhaps the best one our there but do not expect it to be as sensible as you or any ...

Exceeded all expectations

by mandamus , Jan 03 '07
Pros: easy to use, well timed instruction, nice size
Cons: software: some locations do not display when prompted (see review)also no beanbag for dash
First off, I love this thing. My wife got it for me at Costco for $270. I figured with technology changing so rapidly, anything I get will be outdated in a few years. So why not go with the least expensive unit in a well established brand. The ...

Beats the heck out of a paper map!

by chrislim , May 01 '06
Pros: Starts up fast (30secs),clear LCD, Touch Screen GUI,good search features
Cons: Wish it had a cupholder mount, 128Mb SD card only holds 2 states
I bought it off a online store for under $400 (incl shipping). It came with the device, a power cable, car windshield/cigarette adapter kit, cdroms and manual. The difference between the c320 and c330 is that the latter has a HD in it too. The ...

Sub-Par Performance

by rts_research , Dec 22 '05
Pros: Good screen resolution (at night!), nice concept
Cons: Many (see full review)
I returned mine to Amazon after a nightmarish trip to Washington DC. Even though I bought it for $399 (versus the $499 now), I still found it not worth the money. It seems this model was a good attempt by Garmin .. but still has a long way to go before ...

Very easy to use GPS

by rater123 , Jan 29 '06
Pros: Acquires satellite quickly, touchscreen, easy to use.
Cons: Screen glare during the day.
I recently was in the market to buy a GPS because I had seen how easy they made navigation verses printed internet directions. I was going to get the Garmin i3 but found the StreetPilot C320 for the amazing price of $370 at Costco. $422 was the grand ...

cool and useful

by kool_k , Mar 26 '06
Pros: small, portable, efficient
Cons: touchscreen, missing pan when routing
I have used Magellan GPS when renting cars with Hertz, and I am of the opinion that GPS should be std equipment on every car!! The C320 is small, but sufficient to decipher the maps and routes. It is convenient for searching locations, mapping ...

by heyers3 , Jul 13 '05
Pros: ease of use, graphics, internal battery, windshield mount,POI information and options, customer service, cost/benefit
Cons: some outdated POI information
I love it. I've owned three other GPS units. 2-Magellan(700 and 500 roadmate)and 1-Pharos(ez road) This blows them both away. I returned the rest because of disappointment with the overall service and operation. This C320 is extremely user friendly with a ...

Probably the best choice for in car GPS yet!

by mjseeley , Apr 12 '05
Pros: Touchscreen, Small, Fast Routing, value for money, simple, good screen, good maps.
Cons: Non user replaceable rechargeable battery, cannot search via postcode alone.
I've had this unit on loan for only a few hours, and already feel it's worth writing a review. Having used the Garmin StreetPilot 3 for around 4 years now, I'm looking at newer replacements. Having looked at all the competition, I'm convinced the ...
