Pros: Features, Price, LCD Screen, Format, MSN Direct. Cons: Robotic voice promts, Price at some locations, MSN Direct isn't as refined as I predicted.
I bought my Nuvi 680 (pronounced Nu-Vee) a few months back as a replacement for my Nextar X4-T and my Garmin c330. The Garmin c330 is a great GPS, but was too bare bones for my blood. The Nextar X4-T, on the other hand, had most of the features that I ...
Pros: Lots of features, fairly easy to use, compact and portable, great screen Cons: Slow to reach "ready" state, power input plug on mounting clip
I had been wanting a GPS Navigator for quite a while but they were so expensive. When I bought my car, it was a $1,900 option and portables started at around $400 for entry-level, so I stayed with map books and MapQuest printouts. After ...
Pros: Perfect GPS Function, Integrated Bluetooth, MP3, Audiobook, FM transmitter, Traffic, and EVERYTHING ELSE! Cons: $650.00 price is not for all, but I wouldn't settle for less at any price.
As an avid RV'er, I wanted a GPS for many reasons. It's nice to have a "pleasant" female voice gently giving directions. It never once used a 4 letter word or called me a name for not stopping for directions. My current WNS (wife navigation system) is ...
Pros: Size, Ease of Use, Screen Clarity and so much more... Cons: Expensive but worth it, see above in my review.
If you read my other reviews you will see I was the owner of a Magellan Product, it was a GPS. Great Piece of S***. Now lets talk a few moments (ok if I go through each & every option it will be longer than a few moments..) about the Garmin 680. 1. ...
Pros: excellent as a navigator Cons: don't buy for traffic info!
You could not pay me enough to go through what I have with the Nuvi 680. I mainly bought it to help with work commute. The advertised idea of instant traffic reports was highly appealing to me as the Phoenix commute can be a problem. I paid a lot more ...
Pros: comes ready to use out the box Cons: expensive, if you can do w/o the extras, Garmin 650OR750 is an excellent choice
I brought this item for my husband as a Christmas gift! I was originally going to purchase Garmin 750 because it was on sale at for 450.00 w/50.00 coupon at a local retailer, making it 400.00, but they were Out of Stock. Because I had called earlier to ...
Pros: easy to use, valuable and accurate information, very easy to read, display is clear, colorful Cons: If you miss your road or turnoff, the "re-calculating" voice can be annoying!!
I recieved the Garmin for my birthday. What an excellent birthday present. We live in Tacoma-Seattle area where is it used a lot. My wife is in sales, so she is always going places, so the Garmin comes very useful when she has to go to a business in ...
Pros: MP3 audio, bluetooth, size, battery life Cons: FM transmitter, mapping outside conus.
I started my Garmin experience after having experienced the Magellan as represented by Hertz "never lost" then the in-dash by MB in the ML and finally a portable owned by a buddy. This convinced me to purchase an i3. The i3 was great and portable but ...
Pros: Satellite acquisition time, screen size, feature package Cons: $$$$
After a car nav system COMPLETELY changed the stress level of a trip to Europe, I had to have one stateside for my wife, and decided on the 680 after studying CR's reports. We absolutely LOVE this box. The feature package is rich (Bluetooth phone, FM ...
Outdated right out of the box! by george2112 ,Jun 27 '07
Pros: nice bright screen with a nice and loud built in speaker.
Cons: Terrible service from Garmin tech support. They really don't care
I just purchased this Nuvi680 and found that it doesnt even recognize the points of interest in my neighborhood! The unit I bought my wife does (Tomtom go 910). Hers doesnt have as many features, but at least it knows the neighborhood!
i called Garmin upon seeing this on DAY ONE and was told that I would have to spend $80 when the new maps come out in 60 days. I told the service rep that I could just refund the unit and repurchase it in 60 days...he DID NOT CARE.
I asked if there was ANY way to avoid paying the $80, and of course...NOT
It will cost me $15 in shipping to get it back to Amazon, but at least that will save me the $65 difference once the newer maps arrive! I bought from Amazondotcom for $675 incl. taxes and free shipping VS. BestBuy at 899.99 PLUS TAX
Pros: accurate, easy to use, easy to update, great gift also Cons: none
I love my nuvi! It is easy to use and accurate. Being a Realtor, it is nice not to have to use a map or written directions when showing property in a new or unfamiliar area. It has come in handy when I have had to find an alternative route because of traffic, weather, and road closures. On a recent cross county trip I found the hotel, gas station and restaurant listings a big plus. It is easy to update if you have a computer and a USB connection and Internet service.
