Pros: Speed, Expandability, front USB ports, Optical Mouse Cons: Time waiting for installation of extras
I just recently graduated from a major university where you are constantly on the computer and had to face the worst thing any college grad who went to school out-of-state had to face...MOVING BACK HOME. Of course, I'm living out of a storage unit,...
Pros: Ease of setup, high quality product, great look Cons: customer service leaves a lot to be desired
I recently purchased my second gateway complete system. This computer really is the best one I have ever used. It reacts much faster than my last unit. The flat screen monitor takes up much less space and looks really cool. It came with a dvd drive, cd...
Pros: Computer runs fast and quietly and has a great sound system...and keyboard feels comfortable Cons: Mid-tower case a little too big, DVD-rom drive sometimes suspect
I purchased the 700S Gateway PC when it was priced above the amount it is now. However, I have no regrets about the price I paid for the computer. The computer has been more than satisfactory, and I would not hesitate to purchase another Gateway PC.

Pros: Price, Power, Performance Cons: Shipping takes a long time; awful tech support
Why I needed a new PC:
I was in the market for a new computer. I was running a Dell P1 166MHz, 32MB ram, 2GB HDD with Windows 95 as my OS. Clearly I needed something faster. I had just bought a New Digital Camera (Nikon Coolpix 995) that...

Pros: Performed well while it worked Cons: Major hardware problems; No local repair facility
I purchased my Gateway 700XL (along with an extended warranty) in May of 2003. I used the system for a year, and I then put it in storage for 10 months while I relocated. I had the system wrapped by professional packers. When I unpacked the system, it worked for 45 days. Then the motherboard and the video card broke down and had to be replaced. Gateway honored the extended warranty--but the system was still relatively unused. I also had to pay $100 to have the system professionally packed, insured, and shipped to the Gateway repair facility in Texas. Today, the monitor went out--and my warranty expired on May 6, 2006. This is unbelievable that a system that just turned 3 years old has had so many major hardware problems. This is the last Gateway that I will ever purchase.
