Pros: Big screen. Tablet PC was a cool idea but not well developed.
Cons: Dreadful pen & screen. Too heavy & Slow Processor

I was impressed at the screen size 14’’- but for most people (professional and students) this machine is way too large an extremely heavy for practical use as a tablet PC. The battery life is extremely poor and not even close to advertised duration. The reflective screen was a big problem as it seemed to contain specs of material or dust behind the glass writing surface that showed up bright red or blue. The stylus pen was also too big and felt a little unnatural to use, there is a button where most folks keep their fingers to write so mistake in inadvertent button pressing was an issue. Even the PC itself ran slowly and lagged often.

Pros: Great screen, lots of "stuff" in my budget.
Cons: Heavy, not portable, bad customer service from Gateway!

I needed to get a new laptop for school. I had $2000 budgeted and wanted to get a tablet PC. I researched the net and was able to secure a tablet PC within my budget and was able to get the most for my dollar. The laptop is great - it started right away, the tablet worked well and was easy to use. However, the laptop is very heavy. I have to travel overseas for work as well and the laptop is not conducive for this purpose. It's not portable as it is very heavy and requires a lot of space to open. The battery life is poor and Gateway customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It seems that they wash their hands of their customers as soon as the product is sold. I even called them to exchange the laptop, citing my issues. They didn't care. I have to wait an entire year before I can "upgrade" etc. Just because of the customer service, I will never purchase from Gateway again and I advise others against it as well.
