Exceptional any way you look at it

by basiliskst , Apr 06 '07
Pros: Top quality construction and design, great screen image quality, best real world monitor I've seen
Cons: No HDMI connections, no internal TV tuner
Gateway is establishing a reputation for high-quality and high-value wide screen High Definition (HD) LCD monitors. I own two of the award winning predecessor FPD2185W 21" LCD monitors and each has been trouble free and easy on the eyes. So it was an ...

Stunning Display, Great Value

by silflayhraka , Feb 15 '07
Pros: Big, 1920x1200, affordable and versatile.
Cons: It wasn't free.
For a long time, I have been waiting for this class of display to come down from the stratosphere to affordability. LCD's supporting the 1600x1200 I got used to from the CRT era of 1990's have been largely unavailable or overpriced. Finally, Gateway has ...

Simply the best monitor

by toeser , Jun 08 '07
Pros: Big screen, small footprint, adjustable, no glare, high-res.
Cons: Throws off a little bit of heat.
Non-techy review: I went into Big Box store to look at computers and monitors, and was surrounded by high-gloss, high glare monitors. Who uses these? Then I saw the Gateway 24". Beautiful, high resolution picture and absolutely no glare. Add in ...

above average monitor

by adossant , Jul 16 '07
Pros: Great picture. No bad pixels. Ghosting not bad at all. Nice for watching widescreen DVD's.
Cons: The delay to display a picture is annoying. The HEAT is uncomfortable.
I was very pleased when I first started using this monitor. I had been using a twenty one inch CRT until this one. After a month or two of use, now, from the time I turn the monitor on, it now takes about fifty seconds before it displays a picture (just ...

Good quality panel, but poor hardware

by coadey , Nov 21 '09
Pros: Excellent image quality, HDCP, 1:1 scaling, many input choices, good speaker option, adjustable/rotatable stand
Cons: Poor ancillary hardware (buggy onboard controller, failure prone USB ports)
The FPD2485W 24" LCD display by Gateway was and is one of the higer quality 1920x1200 displays available in its price range ($450/ea in Q4 2007).I've owned four of these displays for over 2 years, and the panels themselves have been flawless; no ...

Excellent Monitor! You will not regret this purchase!

by teacher447 , Feb 25 '08
Pros: Big big screen. Excellent clarity. Four USB ports.
Cons: Only has a 1 year guarantee.
I purchased this monitor a week ago. I was looking at a 22" HP for $350, but saw this one and decided to get it. I've been using a 15" NEC CRT that is 14 yrs. old so my perspective comes from the smaller 15" format. This is huge and takes up a large ...
