Pros: Price and specs. Cons: Doesn't work. Gateway is ripping off consumers.
I purchased the Gateway GT5016E from TigerDirect about a week ago and was as usual impressed with Tiger’s quick delivery time and aggressive pricing. The machine arrived a about 3 days later and was destined to replace a custom rig that I had built and ...

Pros: good performance before monitor broke. CPU is very quiet with variable speed fans. Cons: Defective keyboard, Terrible customer and tech support.
I bought a 5016H bundle which is identical to the 5016E, but included the 21" widescreen monitor. My monitor was perfect for the first 2 weeks and then it failed to be recognized as plug and play in the Windows Device Manager. As a result the resolution ...

Great value
by cnchapman ,Aug 13 '06
Pros: Quiet, fast, stable, perfect monitor with 4 USB ports within, included software. Cons: Speakers, keyboard and mouse.
Unlike a previous reviewer, I am delighted with my Gateway 5016E. I purchased this from Costco on clearance with a 21" widescreen monitor, which is gorgeous, for around $1000. The unit is silent in operation, lightening fast, and has been very stable and able to run every bit of software I have installed. The included keyboard and mouse are wired, only so-so, so I have replaced them with a wireless set up from Logitech. The speakers that come out of the box are better left in the box, and unless you just do not care about having sound, I would replace them immediately. Otherwise after two months, I am quite pleased. I am not a gamer so I cannot really comment on this PC's abilities in that arena, but for all other tasks, it has been a great value.
This PC comes with an Intel dual core processor, two DVD drives, one a double layer light scribe RW, a 9-in-one memory card reader, and lots of USB connectivity along with firewire connectivity.

Pros: none Cons: power supply goes out all the time, motherboard fries....
This machine has been repaired multiple times. I bought it for my son and he has lost college work and pictures of his child. He never saves anything to the GateWay anymore. We have two Dells and they are GREAT. I am typing on a Dell right now!
