Pros: inexpensive, no need to purchase tapes, 1 year warranty, volume control Cons: "low battery" message, changes in message quality within 3 years
I have been using the GE Digital Messaging System since December 2001. Before that I had been using an answering machine that required tapes, which my children liked to play with and lose. When that machine stopped working I found the GE ...
Pros: Very easy to use, has time/day stamp Cons: The quality of the recordings just plain sucks
My fiance and I moved into our new apartment a little over a month ago. Since this was both our first times on our own, we quickly learned that we needed to purchase some essentials.
We headed down to our local Target, equipped with...
Pros: Excellent (for what I need it for) Cons: computerized voice sounds like it was recorded in 1990.
I purchased the GE 29878GE1 for $19.99 CND, which is probably around $15 USD. I got it on sale from $27.97 which seems to be the average price for this unit in Canada. You get 14 minutes of record time which for someone like me who only gets 1 or 2 ...
Pros: Light indicating new messages, tells time and date Cons: Some annoying sounds, audibility
Well I was moving into my new apartment and I needed a answering machine so I decided to go with the model by GE. There really is not many features available for an answering machine, but this one has all the features I need.
Pros: It more or less works as intended. Cons: Poor sound quality, a few minor annoyances.
Please be gentle. It's my first review. :-)
First off, let me say that I've never been too fond of GE consumer electronic products. Maybe they can build passable jet engines, but they seem to have trouble with things you can comfortably fit...
Pros: simple, can check messages from any phone, battery back up Cons: can't tell how many messages are waiting
When I was looking for an answering machine, I was looking for something simple, easy to use, and cheap. Also I was sick of having to wait while my old machine rewound the tape of messages before I could hear them. This machine instantly plays the...
Pros: Time/Date Stamp. Pre-recorded voice message. Easy to read buttons and easy installation. Cons: Constant reminder that battery is low.
I bought this machine after my 10 year answering machine broke. This machine has no tapes and is very efficient. Has good volume control and easy to ready buttons. Very small and not bulky. Easy to install. Message light will blink when messages are...
Please bear with me that I am sticking to my feedback after use and that I am not providing any user's manual type of information that you can possibly find from the manufacturer's site.
Your decision of whether to select this item I think...
Pros: Looks cool, works good, and survives power outages. Cons: some of the built in voice recordings are low quality.
The model number on mine might mean a newer model than those who had audio problems, its 29878GE1-B. I find the audio quality to be just fine, and it stores 14 minutes of messages which is a long time in my book. During setup the voice talking about...
Pros: - Able to access voice msges from outside
- easy to use interface Cons: Battery Problems
The first thing I liked about this answering machine was how sweet it looked. Very simple and looked good on the table. Didnt get to test it out in the store but bought it anyways since it was so cheap. Without reading the instruction manual, I was able...
Pros: Small,easy to follow instructions,CHEAP Cons: The "red eye" message indicator, incoming message cut off/disconnect
I bought the machine because I needed to use my high quality Panasonic machine for in home business and needed something to screen incoming calls on my main phone line. BestBuy was having a sale at $16.95 with a $7 rebate (which I received in less than...
Pros: Great Price & Does its job! Remote functions, Digital Cons: Without battery, when the power goes out, so do your messages! :-/
I'm a college student who just needed a simple answering machine for when I'm away and didn't really have a lot of money. I went to Wal-Mart and this was the cheapest one. This answering machine meets my normal needs. I've had no problems whatsoever...
Pros: * Cheap
* Small
* Fully-featured
* English and Spanish supported
* Fully-featured remote access Cons: * Cuts off callers
* Horrible sound quality
* Remote message management poorly designed
I purchased this unit in June 2005 at a large department store for about 25$US. I needed an answering machine for my home office. The unit seemed functional and is very compact. The manual was easy to read and informative. The unit provides both ...
It has a pretty box but that is the only pretty thing about it! by theshopper1 ,May 27 '06
Pros: There are no Pros because there is absolutely nothing good about it. Cons: Unable to hear the entire message or set the features
This is an embarassement for GE. Get this product off the market. I know that it is CHEAP but don't insult my intelligence. I have had inexpensive answering machines before that have lasted many years and AT&T is my last one. Just wish I could find another like it. I only purchased it 5 hours ago and will return it to the store tomorrow. The voice goes in and out and difficult to understand. Have tried repeatedly to set the time and it is impossible.
