Pros: Quiet, large capacity, saves water. Cons: Water remains in dispenser drawer and door gasket.
I started to casually research new washers about a year ago, when our 5-year-old Maytag Performa started to whine, throw oil, and leak water. The transmission was failing. We decided not to repair it, but rather use it until it quit. That happened ...
Pros: HUGE capacity, sanitize cycle rocks. Cons: No dispenser for powdered oxy bleach, pedestal is overpriced, needs a catchier name.
I've had the GE WCVH6800J it for about a month and a half, and I couldn't be happier. Our old top loading machine was on its last legs, and I wanted to replace it with a high-efficiency front loader. The GE was a great choice. It's got a ...
Pros: Quiet operation Minimal water usage Numerous options for washing clothes Cons: I have yet to find any cons to my machines
I have been a faithful Maytag owner for the last 34 years, in that time I have only had two washing machines. Needless to say, I have not needed to purchase a new machine very often. When the time came to replace my 1987 machine ...
Pros: GECustomerService has sunk to low a level. The only pro is Lowes customer Service Cons: We are VERY unhappy with GE customer service. Mr Immelt, can you hear me?
We purchased this washer last summer and had it delivered in October of 2008. Initially the washer worked wonderfully, and we were very proud and happy with our purchase. 3 Months later the machine is banging and framming and walking ...
Pros: Perfect for use as a boat anchor. Cons: On second thought, it probably wouldn't do that job very well either.

Best washer that I know of by caprijoe ,Jul 17 '09
Pros: Fast clean clothes Cons: Size and it weighs alot.
We needed a new dryer, my wife fell in love with this set and bought the pair. I thought the old washer was just fine. Boy was I wrong. This one is great. The clothes come out of the high speed spin almost dry. It uses much less water then the old washer. I'll save a bundle
Pros: Good wash quality Low water and electricity consumption Cons: Not robustly designed
We bought the pre-decessor model(..6600) in March 2008. after 6 months the softener dispensing did not work anymore, in November the spinning noises became bad, washer started "walking around". Technician diagnosed a warped drum. Got it replaced with this model (...6800). No, 11 months later, the shaking has appeared - with almost each cycle, looks like the same problem we had with the pre-decessor model (they look identical).
