Pros: easy to use and purchase Cons: why only 2 flavors?
Eventually children need a way to transition to table food. Gone are the bottles, gone are the jarred food. Table food, even if purchased bite sized for a store can seem daunting, and stressful to new parents who worry about their children choking and ...
Pros: taste good, dissolve easily, low in sugar, quasi-nutritious, travel-friendly container Cons: not a good source of vegetables, highly addictive
After months of watching my daughter gobble down boxes of Cheerios, I decided to find some friendly alternatives for her. I had some coupons for Gerber products so I bought a few of their snack foods. Veggie Puffs, and its sister food Fruit Puffs, are ...
Pros: Good weaning food; Convenient Cons: Only two vegetable flavors; One container won't last long with hungry toddlers.
Babies like to eat and as they grow in size they need to be slowly introduced to a wider variety of food. Liquids come first and solids come later and one food that makes a good introductory solid food is Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs Sweet Potato ...
Pros: Great Flavor, portable, gerber name Cons: A little to small, kind of pricey $2.69 at out Safeway.
As I write this review, I am sitting here munching on these tasty little snacks. It was about a month ago I think that I came across these at Safeway, they are a new finger snack by Gerber they are called Finger Foods Veggie Puffs. They are ...
Pros: Bite-size; mush up easily in baby's mouth; small and portable; rather tasty; baby LOVES them. Cons: Orange color may stain; lid very easy to remove.
I'm already planning to run away from home, and I can see that it won't be long now before I'll need to put my plan into action. You see, I was blessed with a very, er, independent child (also known as stubborn and hard-headed) who, even now, ...
Pros: Fun, healthy snack. Finger Food! Cons: Doesn't melt in baby's mouth and older kids may eat them all!
If my 8 month old son could express feelings with words, this was the expression on his face after his sister and cousins devoured 1/2 of a container of his Gerber Finger Foods Veggie Puffs. Last week we went to a July 4th celebration at a local ...
Pros: Naturally flavored, fun, portable, baby loves them Cons: I wish they had organic ones, a bit pricey, need bigger containers
I've been wanting to try these for a while. My son is 7 months old and I wasn't sure he could eat them. But other girls I knew gave them to their child and they dissolve which is good since he has no teeth yet. My son just tried the new sweet corn ...
Pros: encourages self-feeding, dissolve quickly, easy to pick up, variety of flavors available Cons: sweet potato puffs stain clothing
My 7-month old daughter loves the Gerber Sweet Potato Puffs and she lights up when she knows that she is going to get them as a snack. Our dog loves them, too, and waits nearby for a puff donation. They are light and airy and dissolve in her mouth as she starts to chew/suck on them. She is able to feed herself and has been able to gain more control over her fingers and hands and her pincer grasp. She only has two teeth and she is able to eat them just fine. The sweet potato puffs definitely leave bright orange stains on clothes and as I type this some of her clothes are soaking with Oxy Clean. I now put a bib on her when she snacks. She is just starting to enjoy the Apple Cinnamon puffs and I'm not sure if those stain yet. Great food for teaching baby to self-feed.
My Daughter's Preferred Snack Food by tiggeriffic ,Apr 02 '05
Pros: Taste
Size
Texture
Packaging Cons: Cost
Gerber Veggie Puffs are my daughter's FAVORITE! I even thought they were pretty good when I tried them! They are slightly sweet and have a great melting texture. I know they are not truely a "vegetable", but I feel better knowing she's at least getting some nutrition from a treat than none.
I also love the container. It travels very well.
Since these are my daughter's favorite treat, I am using them as an incentive to potty train. She only gets to have some after she sits on the potty... next, after she goes potty... and so on.
The only regret I have about purchasing these is that they are costly for the amount you get. I understand it must cost Gerber a lot to develop new products and keep them safe for our children, but still...
Stains Clothing Permanently by nunzino ,Oct 29 '05
Pros: Easy to eat
Kid loves the taste
Cons: Causes permanent stains in clothing
Clothing is expensive to replace
Parents Beware! We gave our baby the Sweet Potato Veggie Puffs and it caused bright orange stains on her clothing. I contacted a Gerber Product Services representative (800-4-GERBER) to inquire about removing these stains. Her reply was that unless you treat the stains, while wet, with OxyClean, they are permanent. Her recommendation was to try a different Gerber product. We will receive coupons for other Gerber products, which may or may not damage her clothing. The Gerber representative was kind, friendly, and helpful, but this does not replace the damaged clothing. Kids are messy eaters, and putting a permanent dye in food for "Babies Learning to Self-Feed" is just irresponsible.
