Pros: Comfort, integrity, function, form. Saucon Valley Bikes are tops! Cons: derailers stink, hard handlegrips
Overall, I like this bike. Great price, comfortable and solid bike (that is surprisingly light) that is built strong and handles child carrier well. Shifting stinks, probably will take it back for adjustments (free for life), brakes ok, sits nice and...
Good first bike, but weak components, fork by peeshy86 ,Nov 30 '04
Pros: Price. Also, the steel frame is strong and quite comfortable. Cons: The componentry will make you lust for a better bike.
For those beginning mountain bikers, this is a good bike, although you'll notice that the wheelset will go out of true very quickly. I replaced the rear with a triple walled Alex and ended that problem. Eventually I had to move up, and sold this bike to my brother because I had reached the limit of its capabilities. The fork is nice and stiff, but there is practically no adjustments, and no oil damping, so there is a pogo-stick effect. Get a nicer bike after about a season or so, and you'll be greatful.
Pros: ALUXX frame, decent components, a pleasure to ride Cons: I've ridden 5 times, and the aluminum front sprockets are already showing signs of wear.
Super nice bikes for the money. I purchased a 2006 17" SE for $260 and a 2007 SE for $290. Frame is light and strong, derailleurs are a bit weak, but something I expected on an entry level bike.
Pros: efficient geared low for off road riding afforadble easy to mantain Cons: NOTHING AT ALL ITS THE GREATEST
This bike is the greateset bike for what they are asking for money. I paid $290.00 for it and it has never broken. I haven't had to tune it and i have had it for over two months now. Stock brakes are incredible and the bike comes good with tock tires and it is soooo efficient.
Pros: price, comfort, solid build, Cons: lot of play with front shocks, steel handle bars
I just purchased a 2007 Boulder SE, aluminum body, very light, solid feel. Def a good purchase for a begginer, which I am. I am extremely happy and did tons of research before I bought a bike and got back into the sport. I would recommend it.
