Pros: A cost effective, stylish, comfortable helmet that provides great protection. Cons: Long chin strap, cheap visor, tendency to tilt forward.
I have a big head. Not the metaphorical big ego, but a bulbous cranium. For that reason I've never worn hats. The effect would be humorous, or perhaps disturbing. So imagine my consternation when I took up mountain biking and necessarily had to ...
Pros: light, 23 vents, Roc-Loc 2 Cons: chin strap is a little long
It wouldn't surprise me if Giro one day had their helmets on display in the National Museum of Art. Their helmets are designed so well and sculpted so beautifully, it's ridiculous to not wear one. Find one of their ads in a biking magazine and you'll...
Pros: stylish, good airflow Cons: costs a tad more than my previous helmets
The good thing about this helmet is the wide variety of sizes that it comes in means that you will certainly be able to find one to fit you well. My odd-shaped noggin fit quite nicely into the one I tried on.
Pros: be like LANCE ARMSTRONG! Cons: Not an exodus or boreas, visor could be better.
Hi, thought I'd write you about my Giro Gila helmet. I've got one of the green and black ones from .... about 1998-99. No reason to buy a new one because this helmet lasts and lasts. It's looking a little worn, but of course, I don't keep it in a...
Pros: Safer than higher priced helmets. Cons: None come to mind.
What first caught my attention was the cool design of the helmet. The slick midnight blue stripe down the middle highlighted by white on both sides gave it an expensive look. They produce other great helmets but I liked this one . The Giro helmet ...
After wearing my cheap, no frill bell helmet for over 5 years, I decided I needed a new one. Not one to buy on name alone, I tended to look at the cheaper helmets first. None of them seemed to fit well, so as time went on, my expected purchase price...
Pros: Light weight, great ventilation, reasonable price. Cons: None
I purchased my first Gila in 2001 and have been so impressed with its over all quality and comfort, relative to price, that I have now purchased another. Last year I rode 2,000 miles and used a Gila for all of them; it proved to be comfortable and provided great ventilation.
While it may not be Giro's top helmet, I do not think it can be beaten on a price/serviceability comparison.
