Interesting portable take on a good action franchise by ldwalker59 ,Mar 30 '08
Pros: Very good graphics, the close ups and cinematic events in the game are very intense. Cons: the randomized button combos for beating mini-bosses and bosses is pretty frustrating at times.
Introduction
I found the God of War series was interesting and exciting if not so perfectly accurate portrayal of a Spartan named Kratos. I find the action sequences a lot of fun.
Story
You start as the same hero from the two PS2 installments and you leap into a battle with a boss almost right at the beginning. You learn the controls fairly quickly and get more as you play through. If you leave the tutorials on it helps a lot if you are not familiar with the other games that were released. You go from fighting a Basilisk and a Persian King in the first Chapter to fighting some of the Grecian gods themselves.
Kratos will travel form Athenian shores through Hades itself in the sprawling adventures, and if you get to beat the boss at the end of the game the cinematic is well done.
After you beat the regular game you have other challenges that are unlocked that you can continue your adventures with.
Gow Is the game of the year for me by review235k ,May 11 '08

Simply the best game for the PSP by mikewa30 ,Apr 17 '08
Pros: There's so many pros to this game it's hard to find a con. Cons: The evading ability was a bit more difficult on this than earlier versions.
When I heard that God of War was coming to the PSP, I knew that I had to get my hands on a copy. Problem was, at the time, it wasn't out for another eight months. Needless to say it was well worth that wait.
The game play is very much like it's larger PS2 brethren, with the exception of a few control techniques. The graphics are stunning in this game. It really pushes the limit for the PSP.
The boss battles are phenomenal. From the moment you battle the Persian King in the opening moments of the game, to the final battle with Persephone; you will not end this game disappointed.
