  • Aquatred III- Go ahead, try to hydroplane!

    Mar 19 '02
Pros: Outstanding traction on wet roads. Long treadwear.
Cons: Slightly noisier than other tires.

Summary: The Goodyear Aquatred 3 is Goodyear's latest wet traction passenger tire. It provides outstanding wet road traction and a very long treadlife (80,000 mile warranty).

When it came time for new tires for my Honda Accord I visited my local...

  • Goodyear should be ashamed

    Aug 22 '03
    Pros: Look nice
Cons: Poorly made, loud, over priced

Summary: I purchased a set of Goodyear Aquatread tires assuming that Goodyear would provide a decent tire for ...

  • Do no buy!

    Nov 18 '02
    Pros: Long life.
Cons: Slippery on wet pavement, noisy.

Summary: I bought these tires 1.5 years ago. Since then I had at least five situations in which the car slipped on wet pavement, specially when you accelerate or brake. Aquaplaning may be Ok, but the rubber compound is the worst I've tested!
    My previous...

  • Great Buy

    Jul 16 '02
    Pros: Excellent Wet weather traction
Cons: Dry weather handling/traction could be better

    Summary:
I bought a set of Aquatred 3 tires about 22k miles ago and haven't had a complaint since. I put them on a 99 pontiac bonneville.

I live in New england, so I have some experience with poor weather conditions and how it can effect your...

  • Aquatread III and Toyota Sienna

    Apr 07 '02
Pros: Good in rain and snow, decent steering response
Cons: Not as smooth as touring tires

Summary: When I read another review here that someone had to replace these tires on a Toyota Sienna, I thought I should add my experience. I put a set of Aquatread III's on a '99 Sienna and the vehicle had a strong "tire pull" since I installed them. I had the...

  • My Best Wet-Pavement Tire.

    Dec 10 '01
    Pros: Exceptional wet-pavement traction.
Cons: Dry-pavement cornering not as good as factory Goodyear Eagle tires.

Summary: When I saw someone else had given the Aquatred III poor marks, I had to respond. I just replaced the factory Goodyear Eagle tires on my 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix with the Goodyear Aquatred III. I did extensive research prior to selecting the Aquatred III,...

  • Not recommended

    Dec 07 '01
    Pros: Good wet traction
Cons: Would not stay balanced, dealer needed 10 tires to find 4 that didn't "wobble"

Summary: Today I replaced the Aquatread 3 tires I had put on my new Sienna minivan last March. They had travelled about 13000 KM (7800 miles) and had given grief for most of that time.

I should have known when the selling dealer needed 9 tires to find...

  • Great on wet roads

    Nov 07 '08
    Pros: Great on wet roads.
Cons: Tread picks up rocks and gravel easily.

Summary: I put a set of these Aquatreads on my 2005 Toyota Sienna van a couple years ago and have been exceptionally pleased with them.  The OEM tires - with only 17,000 miles on them - used to pull me off the road when I hit a puddle of water.  Now

  • Extremely Short Life

    Jun 02 '06
Pros: When new, performaned well during braking, cornering, and manuevering on dry/wet roads.
Cons: The tread is almost gone after only 25,000 miles!

Summary: I bought a set of Goodyear Aquatred 3 tires for my 2000 Nissan Altima GXE with high hopes only to be extremely disappointed. Needless to say, my next set of tires will not be made by Goodyear. These tires are absolutely

  • AQUATRED III Good & Bad

    Jan 02 '06
Pros: Excellent in water good in snow. Handles very well.
Cons: Noisy, exceptionally poor wear: 33,000 miles only 20% tread left on 70,000 mile tires.

Summary: On Subaru Outback for 18mo. AQUATRED III were the recomended tires by Goodyear. Rotated and balanced every 3,000-4,000 miles. 33,000 miles on all 4. 1 tire very noisy & getting worse. Goodyear dealer told me that all 4 need replaced due to "excessive

  • I've stuck with the AuqaTred for years on several cars

    Sep 22 '05
Pros: Excellent all-weather tire; Excellent torque-steer characteristics
    Cons: None for me.

Summary: Before I bought my AquaTred IIIs I was afraid to drive my Mazda RX-7 in the slightest wet weather. (The RX-7 is a rear-wheel drive sports car). The improvement with the AquaTreds was like night and day, even for freezing rain and snow. Since then

  • Great grip, wet performance. Lousy treadwear. Not round.

    May 09 '05
Pros: Good grip in turns. Great wet performance.
Cons: Noisy. Not round. Treadwear awful, esp. for the price.

Summary: Vehicle: VW Passat V6. Driving Style: Spirited. Location: Pensacola Fla. I purchased a set of four Aquatreds about 22,000 miles ago to replace stock Michelins that lasted 55,000 miles. Was very pleased initially...awesome grip and cornering,

  • Poor quality & performance

    Mar 07 '05
Pros: No real good points here.
Cons: Everything - just don't buy it!

Summary: As others have mentioned I seem to have gotten one tire that is off balance which 3 different tire stores could not balance using their machines. I get vibrations between 60mph and higer. That was very disappointing and annoying. At first it wasn't bad

  • No Complaints!

    May 05 '04
Pros: Smooth ride, excellent, predictable response to steering inputs. Great traction dry or wet.
Cons: These tires require directional rotation, so that may limit tire life. Too early to tell.

Summary: I replaced a set of OEM tires on our 98 Blazer with the Goodyear AquaTred 3 and have been very pleased. As others have noted there is a very slight (not objectionable) hum at higher speeds. However, I have also worn out a set of Toyo 800 Ultras (not
