Pros: Steering feel, all-weather handling, tread life Cons: Jittery ride
These tires came standard on my wife's 1998 Olds Intrigue with the Autobahn Package (which includes these tires and larger brakes). They are a high performance all-season tire. Goodyear makes higher performance tires, but they generally are not...
Pros: State Patrol approved tire for pursuit vehicles. Good value. Cons: Extra cost in this size and type. Poor availability in local stores.
The RS-A tire was recommended by a few local guys with Caprice 9C1's and the consensus on the Yahoo! 9C1 list is that if you can afford them, they are the "right model" to maintain the GM Police Package look and feel, since GT+4 tires are long out of ...
I now own my third car with factory-installed Goodyear Eagle RS-A's. If I were writing this review after the first two experiences, it would be very different than this one. 1996 Monte Carlo Z34 & 2001 Monte Carlo SS both came with these tires. The ...
It is fairly rare, but it does rain in California's Central Valley. As a matter of fact, it often rains for all but a couple days out of a single month (in the fall usually).
This is where I get the basis for my review on the Goodyear Eagle...
I had my first (and last) experience with this tire when it came stock on my 1999 Camaro Z28. The very first time I drove in the rain, my traction control engaged 4 times in that drive alone. I felt myself losing traction under normal driving...
Pros: Didn't cost me anything since they came with the car, decent handling on dry roads Cons: Loud, no traction in rain, blew out on me after only 32,000 miles
Yikes, what a nightmare. Decent handling in optimum conditions, but drops to terrible traction in the rain or snow. No matter how gently I would accelerate, coming off a stop light in the rain *guaranteed* that the tires would spin. Snow was even...
Pros: Good traction in dry, wet, and snowy conditions. Above average tread wear. No noticeable noise. Cons: None.
I am just now replacing these tires on my '98 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS (FWD) after just over 64K miles. They came OEM on the vehicle when I bought it and found that they did the job the first time around so why not replace them with the same. I live in...
Pros: Above average tread life for H rated tire. Rain and snow traction is average Cons: Tires squeal like a pig. Dry traction below average. Tire scallops very easy
I've been driving on Goodyear Eagle RSA's for approx 90k mile and have gone through three sets of tires on two cars. These tires are standard OEM on 1997-Present GrandPrix GTP vehicles. The GrandPrix GTP is touted as a sports performance sedan, however...
Pros: Free- came with car. Cons: Max treadlife of 25K miles or less, pricey, noisy and poor wet traction.
These tires came as OEM equipment on my 2007 Mazda 3, size 205/50-17. At 16,500 miles, I got a nail in a tire and took the car into the nearby Goodyear dealer for a repair. They asked me to come back into the shop to "discuss my tires". With the car up ...
Pros: Lasts forever Cons: A little more expensive than the non brands
These tires came with my vehicle a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire GT (purchased in 1996)and at almost 75K (the odometer said 74,832 when I rolled into Discount) later(I'm the only owner), I finally replaced them. I was able to push my tires to the very very very...
Pros: No pros Cons: There is no positive thing I can say about the RSA's
These came new on my Mazda 3 5door '07'. They are very poor on wet roads, which in the Seattle area is a liability. They are loud and vibrate up through the steering wheel. Slow leak in one of the tires and one started seperating around 28,000 miles. I ...

Pros: Treadwear, traction Cons: Expensive, but worth it
I bought a 1998 GTP (new in Jan '00 - demo) equipped with these tires and 2700 miles. The front tread showed considerable wear for so few miles and I never rotated the tires, wanting to keep the best tread on the back (FWD).
After 30,000 miles, I had to replace the front tires as they began hydroplaning (? - traction control was kicking in) @ 75mph in the rain. I was hesitant about buying the same tires, considering the wear rate, but wanted to keep matching set, even at $135 ea.
I put the new tires on the front, keeping original tires on back. (I figured if I rotated the tires I would have to replace all 4 at once - @ $750+ - instead of just 2 at a time)
I'm now at 80K miles and all 4 tires still have plenty of tread. Front tires w/50K miles and rear tires (still original!) w/80K.
Traction is excellent, even in wet weather, so long as one drives intelligently. I would have to say that handling is above average, considering to roll and dive that the car itself provides.
I believe my previous statements speak for treadwear.
