Pros: Super sensitive reception, no interference, and 2 receivers Cons: The transmitter MUST be powered by electricity ~ does NOT take batteries
When selecting my first baby monitor, I had two prerequisites: 1. Battery power was essential as I wanted the freedom to meander throughout the house without having to be plugged in. 2. I needed a system that could reduce ...
Pros: 2 receivers, PERFECT reception, portable Cons: no lights only feature
I received this monitor a few weeks before our second daughter was born - our old one (a fisher price) never worked right, and I didn't want to use it again. Plus I wanted 2 receivers because we now had a bigger house and I wanted one receiver at one...
Pros: Very clear, No static, 2 receivers, receivers run on AC or battery power. Cons: Lowest setting can still be too loud.
I received this monitor as a gift before my daughter was born. I had registered for the slightly cheaper Graco monitor, but got this one instead. Now I can't say how well the other may have worked but I am so glad to have this one. Product ...
Pros: Ultra sensitive. Two receivers. Includes power adapters. Cons: Ultra sensitive. Feedback worthy of Hendrix.
Being new parents, we are, of course, checking about every 30 seconds to make sure our baby is still breathing. Since we didn't have enough money to purchase the little hidden X-10 porno cam advertised in those annoying pop up ads, we opted for a...
Pros: Portable, plug-in and battery compatible, very sensitive to any noise Cons: Eats up batteries!
I received my monitor as a shower gift, and love it! I could hear my baby breathe when he was sleeping if I turned the volume all the way up. The system is very sensitive to noise, so you don't have to be right on top of it to hear it. I could go...
Pros: Lightweight components make them easy to throw away Cons: This product was actually manufactured
This is one of the worst things I have ever purchased. There was so much static and such a loud humming we couldn't hear the baby screaming at the top of his lungs. In fact, the static and humming is so loud that I'm doubtful you could hear the baby...
Pros: You can hear the baby no static. Cons: Only lasted a year.
I have had this monitor for a year now. Luckly I have only had use for one of the recievers so I was able to switch them out but my first reciever the sound stopped working, I could see the baby was crying but not hear her. I am wondering when the second one will quit. Glad I recieved these as a shower gift and did not waste my money on buying them.
Great Value, Great Reception by jigglywiggly ,Jan 11 '04
Pros: Value, great reception Cons: Inability to power base station with batteries
2 receivers made this a great value. The reception is crystal clear.
The only thing I would have liked was to have the base station be able to run on batteries in case of a power failure or if we went camping etc... The receivers run on batteries (9 volt) of course, just not the base station.
Pros: Totally static free (IMPORTANT for parents trying to sleep), amazingly sensitivity (can hear child breathing) Cons: No low battery alarm
My partner and I bought this monitor after being kept awake at night by the static on a different baby monitor. The Ultraclear was SO static free it was terrific. It also is amazingly sensitive, we could hear our 3 year old breathing as she slept, a very reassuring feeling.
The only feature we miss from the old monitor was a signal the battery had run down. The Ultraclear receiver just goes dead. It has not been much of a problem though, as we use fresh rechargable batteries or the AC adapter.
We paid $39.99 at Target for the transmitter and two receivers, with AC adapters for all.
I don't think this monitor is as good as technology could make it, but it was SIGNIFICANTLY better in day to day use than the other brand we used.
