Green Witchcraft: A truly magical book

by arachnia47 , Sep 17 '00
Pros: lots of great information, easy to understand.
Cons: not enough information on fairies
I went into town the other day, I wanted to buy a book on one of my favorite topics, Witchcraft/Wicca. I specifically wanted a book on Fairies or on Herbs. Not having a lot of money with me, and knowing that these type of books can be expensive, I...

Green Witchcraft: Revisited and Rewritten by My Editorial Hand

by zenstar812 , Mar 14 '04
Pros: Wonderful beginners guide to the Green Craft, comprehensive, easy to read
Cons: Stated in review of book
I am doing something that I never do...that is to delete and rewrite a review. My reasons for doing this is that I feel that this book may have been misrepresented on some fronts and I find that to be very distressing. Why do I find it distressing? ...

A Natural Way of Life

by blueworld52 , Aug 13 '01
Pros: This book was understandable and informative, and an enjoyable read as well!
Cons: There was very little Fairy Lore
I enjoyed this book very much. If you like using/growing herbs for your work, then you will probably appreciate this book as well. Herbs appear to be the author's specialty.

So let's go over it chapter by chapter, and I'll let you know what...

cherishable...a gem among craft literature

by 131313 , Mar 30 '00
Pros: Well written, spontaneous and informative.
Cons: Definitely not for purists.
If you've grown tired of the dime-a-dozen, seemingly banged out in a day literature on Wicca and witchcraft that currently saturates new age sections, Ann Moura's Green Witchcraft is a welcomed change. Metaphorically compared, it is like trading in...

Not exactly a gardening book

by Shalott , Feb 01 '00
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Cheapens a very old, sacred religion
First of all, this book isn't a gardening book. It is a book that attempts, (and fails), to teach the "basics" of Witchcraft in the green tradition.

The author claims to be a third generation "fam trad", which means...

Disappointed and Distracted

by gwena , Feb 05 '00
Pros: Fairly Short
Cons: Incoherent, Off-Topic and Repetitive
I was extremely disappointed by this book. The subtitle says "Folk Magic, Fairy Lore and Herb Craft." So that is what I expected to find inside. Wrong! There is a chart for the uses of herbs but that's about the extent of the Herb Craft...

Close to home

by hawthorn , Feb 02 '02
Pros: Honest, Personal and informative.
Cons: Not for Nazi Witch-types who think they know it all.
I officially began my path about 25 years ago. At that time there wasn't much available especially in a small rural town in the Mid-West, so my studies were somewhat limited. What I found in the pagan community was people who for the most part were...

Wonderful

by dolphingoddess , Dec 03 '00
Pros: Great beginning book for new Witches
Cons: Can't think of any.
This is a wonderful book for those just starting out in the Craft. It is also good for those who are looking for a bit of a different book than those most commonly found on Witchcraft. The rituals are different and very unique. There are also a few...

Good but misleading

by skylark2 , Mar 12 '00
Pros: pracitces,herb listings
Cons: misleading on the colors of magick
I thought this book was very well written, but it was seriouly misleading on the colors of magick. There are no colors to magick. Another appropriate title might be: "Purple Witchcraft." It would have the same effect. I found it very...
