I purchased this water dispenser at Lowe's recently because the well water in our house in no good. I love the design of this product. It doesn't have that commercial look of some of those other dispensers on the market. The price was so great we just ...
Pros: the blue light gives a cool blue glow to the water. Cons: child safety on the hot water if you do not have a child.
I purchased this product Wal-Mart without reading the reviews. I got home and read the negative reviews about the plastic taste but decided to take a chance. I flushed the system with about 5 gallons of water but the plastic taste persisted. Then my ...
Pros: Cool looking Cons: Water tastes like plastic
Water continues to drip after the button is released.
I bought this water cooler from Fry's Electronics. I ended up buying two of them. The first one, after one bottle of water, starting taking on this weird "plastic-like" taste to the water. I took the bottle off to see if it was the water or the unit, and sure enough, it was the unit. I got a second one and the same thing happened. So...I brought the unit back to Fry's and got store credit.
Water comes out tasting like plastic by jellanca ,Jan 02 '06
Pros: Provides hot, cold, and room temperature water. Inexpensive. Good looks. Cons: Inexcusable strong plastic taste to water.
No matter how much I cleaned the water reservoir according to both the included directions and the extended cleaning tips I found on Greenway's web site, I could not get rid of the strong plastic taste of the water that came from this dispenser. I actually purchased two of these water dispensers from different retailers--Lowes and the Kenmore branded version from Sears--because I could not believe any company could survive systematically selling a product with such a defect--Don't most people buy a water dispenser so they can have good tasting water at home--both produced water that tasted just as strongly. So strongly that I would worry for the health of my family if we actually used it. After 25 gallons of water through each unit with no appreciable improvement. I returned both units. I cannot imagine ever purchasing a Greenway water dispenser again. And this time I will wait till I read favorable reviews before purchasing a water dispenser.
Pros: The product is lightweight and compact. It has an attractive appearance. Cons: The awful plastic taste just won't go away. Nothing seems to work.
I bought a Greenway GWD200W-2 water dispenser in September, 2006. I wanted to have a good source of drinking water in my classroom at school. I have used it very sparingly. Should have kept the receipt and taken it back right away. With the safety of plastics a rather hot topic now, I am about to simply throw the unit away.
