Pros: excellent, high quality, super sturdy, inexpensive Cons: none to my mind
My Tablesaw Set Up
For most people, the table saw is the heart of the shop. More than any other tool, it's the one that performs the bulk of the work. Mine doubles as a router table, and triples as an work bench. I've souped it up with an...
Pros: Accurate, Powerful, Affordable, mirror like table top, fence is excellent, easy to assemble Cons: Cleaning the protectant off of the top took a while, but a minor complaint really.
Update: I have been using the saw for about 8 months now and am very happy with the saw. The saw guard leaves something to be desired, but every saw on the market uses the same lame blade guard. I have made my own overhead design which eliminates most...
Pros: Value, power, customer service, quality, ability to adjust everything Cons: Still thinking..........
Value is a word that comes to mind quickly when I sit to write this review. Owning a Powermatic 66 cabinet saw for 2 years, I have a lot to compare this Grizzly saw to. I drove 4 hours to the Williamsport Grizzly showroom before purchasing and ...
Pros: Lots of power
Nice fence Cons: Left side of table not beveled
Handwheel clearance
A very nice saw with lots of power. I have the 3hp 220volt model. I recently set up a 3/4 inch stacked dado on the saw. The saw had no problems with cutting a 1/2 inch dado in 3/4 inch hardboard.
Pros: Powerful saw, mostly assembled, accurate table and fence. Quiet and sturdy. Cons: Surface "protectant" was in mitre slots; a major pain to clean out.
This is a great saw for the price. I read in Wood magazine that this saw beat out the Delta and even the Dewalt, so I ordered one. What a wonderful saw. It was already put together except for the fence assembly and table wings.
Pros: Excellent quality when tweaked, substantial, attractive. Good customer support. Cons: Not perfect when delivered, some skill required to get a perfect setup.
Other reviewers have described the features of the saw, so this review will focus on unusual items I came across. When I received my saw I should have checked it more thoroughly for shipping damage. I noticed a slight dent in the case while the ...
I purchased this saw about two weeks ago from grizzly and finally installed a 220v in my shop. All I can say is WOW! This thing is ROCK SOLID. I build custom cabinets and aquariums out of acrylic and this saw can do it all. I had first ordered it from ...
I had bought this saw about 5 years ago as the center piece of my shop and it has never let me down. At the time the fence system on the saw was ok, so I up graded to the Shop Fox Fence system, which comes with the saw now I believe. Set up is easy and...
It's great, just don't expect to cut anything square..... by pzkfw99 ,Oct 05 '03
Pros: It LOOKS like a table saw... Cons: It's GOOD at making sawdust...
Got my Grizzly and was very excited. After the set up, I checked out the fence by ripping a few pieces. I found that the fence needed a little adjustment. So, following the instructions, I removed the plastic fence guide, and adjusted the shimming underneath. After about 2 hours of this, I decided that I should have spent a little more money. It works fine for very long pieces, but anything that might possibly be small enough to hit a dip in the crummy fence is going to be worthless (8" long or less).
Pros: precision, quality, features, great fence, powerful motor. Cons: The on button could be a little bigger.
I've been a woodworker for 30 years and this is my third table saw. I wore out the first two. This saw is awesome. It is extremely well built. All the parts are massive cast iron pieces. The machining is incredible especially the top which is polished to almost a mirror finish. The motor is powerful. I've never been able to bog it down. On my first two table saws I had to upgrade the fence and miter. Not on this one! The fence is equal to any of the expensive after market fences. Grizzly blew the competition away with this incredible piece of machinery. It even includes a true magnetic switch.
I've bought a few Delta machines in the past three years and they have slipped. Talk about not wanting to buy stuff made in China. Their lower end stuff is made in China and it stinks. The parts are machined crooked and the finish is crude. I've even written to them to complain and they don't care!
When I call Grizzly they care and are responsive to their customers. You won't be sorry if you buy this saw.
