Pros: Good, wholesome food. Quick service and lots of choices Cons: Service staff, some prices.
With the rise and fall of Daily Soup, Soup Nazi and other soup specialists, one has risen to the top and continues to build on with 16 restaurants, a website on the way, a successful wholesale division selling soup to Aramark, The Amish Market, ...

Pros: Delicious soup, lots of choices Cons: Wish it were cheaper, but prices aren't that bad for Manhattan
I work in midtown Manhattan, and nothing is really that cheap for lunch around my office. I can get a 6-inch veggie sub at Subway for about $3.50 or a slice of generic pizza for $2.50, but if I want a real sandwich, salad or something like that, it is ...

Value? Not!
by gourman ,Mar 09 '05
Pros: You can choose to go elsewhere. Cons: Too expensive for what you get.
$7.59 for a 12 oz. cup of soup? I think not. Sure, you get a lot of crackers as filler but if you add that to the cost of the paper cup, plastic spoon, and soup, the food cost probably won't amount to two bits. Oh, not to mention, the manager was surly. The servers were polite.

Horrible customer service
by j_scoggins ,Oct 18 '04
Pros: none Cons: very rude servers, extremely poor customer service
I went by Hale and Hearty Soups today for lunch. For health reasons I have to follow a very strict and specific diet. Therefore, I have to be very careful when I eat out. Most places are very accommodating about letting you know the ingredients of any of their food if you ask. H&H, however, was horrible. Not only were they unaccommodating in helping me learn about the ingredients, they were downright rude. They refused to share the ingredients with me, and even questioned why I needed to know. I spoke with the manager, who was at least cordial. He, however, said they aren't allowed to give out ingredients. I've never heard of anything so ridiculous. I did not eat at the place and will certainly never eat at a H&H soups and I discourage everyone else to do the same. Good soups or bad soups, customer service is what makes or breaks a company. And H&H is broken.

Watch the name of the soup!
by maherk13 ,Feb 13 '04
Pros: tasty soup Cons: overpriced and did not include the title ingredient.
I had a soup from the new Hale and Hearty location at 110 Maiden Lane. It was called "Shrimp and Black Bean". Good soup, but it had nothing to do with shrimp. I found two tiny shrimp in a medium soup that I feel I got ripped off paying $6.46 including tax. There was no shrimp flavor and it was really black bean soup. It might have been worth it at half the price, but for a cup of soup costing over six bucks I expect something wonderful. This soup was far from that. I hope the rest of the chain is not like this because it wouldn't be worth it for me to ever go again. I wouldn't recommend it.
