Pros: Makes wonderful, fluffy waffles and waffle sticks. Stores and cleans easily. Cons: Overflows easily; lack of timer.
As any mom will tell you, kids seem to prefer foods that can be eaten easily by hand. Waffles are no exception! Perhaps that explains the popularity of waffle sticks, which surely must have dreamed up by a very entrepreneurial child. I often buy the ...
Pros: Compact, inexpensive, and easy to use Cons: n/a
I enjoy waffles, but they're not high on my priority list. My husband, however, has always wanted a Belgian Waffle Maker as opposed to a normal waffle machine. The other day in our grocery store I saw a display of Proctor-Silex® (Hamilton Beach) ...

General Impressions I have to say that I have a fairly intense love/hate relationship with my Hamilton Beach Waffle Stix maker. While it's great to use when you need a quick breakfast, it seems to have some shortcomings that could be fairly ...
Pros: Compact, user friendly, and inexpensive. Cons: Wire conduit is a magnet for excess batter.
On weekends I enjoy cooking breakfast for my sons since they are the first ones up in the morning. I would fix up their favorite breakfast of pancakes and sausage. One day the eldest of my two sons asked me if I could make waffles I told him I'd think ...
Wouldn't recommend this waffle maker! by lyntiria ,Jan 25 '05
Pros: Cooks waffles. What is left of them after spilling. Cons: Excessive spilling over the coil in the back and in the front. Very messy.
Unfortunately, this appliance is not a winner! For $8.44 I didn't expect perfection, but it's no good if the cleaning time exceeds the amount of time to cook the waffles. The batter spills out the back, all over the exposed coil - impossible to get clean, and the batter spills out of the front of the machine also. I kept decreasing the amount of batter, thinking that would reduce the spilling, but it did not work.
This is one I wouldn't recommend. I am trying a Black & Decker waffle maker instead and will write a review of that one once I try it!
Good Value and simple to operate by dscaplan ,Aug 18 '07
Pros: Excellent price point, attractive packaging, sufficient ready indication, heat element cycle time is sufficient Cons: Waffle dimensions are too small, hard to clean, could be better weighted for counter stability
This morning I made about a dozen waffles with the 26000. The heating element came up to temperature quickly for the 1st batch and the waffles cooked in about 80 seconds. Subsequent batches took considerably longer, indicating that the unit takes additional time to preheat after each batch. It is important to use sufficient cooking spray on both top and bottom surfaces to prevent the batter from sticking (especially to the upper surface). Occasionally the batter would overflow. It is important to keep the handle latch from engaging while cooking, else there is insufficient area for expansion. The handle for opening the unit remained cool to the touch. The 26000 is a little underweight for a counter top appliance and therefore tends to slide around while servicing. I had to use a narrow spatula to extract the cooked waffles. Overall I enjoyed my first experience with the 26000 and I would recommend it to those that seek a low cost and simple to use waffle maker. Time will tell if the non-stick surface remains intact, but considering the low price point, a few years of reliable use is all I could ask for.
