Pros: no carafe; easy to use; makes good coffee, keeps it hot; Cons: needs lock feature to protect children/toddlers from potential burns
Christmas 2006 was one of those years when I was totally stumped as to what to buy my husband. I asked that famous question several times, Honey, what do you want for Christmas? He would always reply with a consistent, “it doesn’t matter”. Finally one ...
Pros: Easy to use and clean. Cons: Drips around the inside gasket sometimes if you don't keep the coffee grounds out.
Why did I buy this coffeemaker I have used many coffeemakers over the course of my years (which I won’t tell you how many) and I got really tired of trying to keep them clean! There were always so many little nooks and crannies that, no ...
Pros: Keeps coffee hot without imparting a burned flavor Cons: Using coffee vessel to fill with fresh water gunks up fresh water reservoir
While the most impressive feature of the Brew Master is how it keeps coffee hot (well above what you typically encounter using glass pot coffee makers) without imparting the burned flavor that invariably occurs, this machine is not without faults and ...
mine leaks too, here's why..... by davetheangry ,Mar 20 '08
Pros: easy to use Cons: poor assembly or poor material?
I have contended with leaks for some time too. I cleaned the valve area etc... with limited success. Finally I decided to remove the black plastic piece that fits over the opaque tank and sure enough I discovered two cracks, concealed by the black piece. One radiated from where the spring loaded valve was "hinged" or inserted. The other looked like it was caused by overtightening one of the screws when the tank was put together. Both cracks are obvious assembly related issues. I'll call Hamilton Beach shortly, but I'm sure I'll be buying something else soon. Too bad though, it makes good coffee and is quite convenient to use....
Works Great - Leaks too much! by plumbernole ,May 25 '06
Pros: Great coffee, easy to operate. Cons: LEAKS TOO MUCH, GROUNDS OR NOT!
I've had the Hamilton Beach Brew Station for about a year. It makes great coffee. But, the coffee tank leaks all the time. And it's not from coffee grounds. The valve washer is worn out. Why can't I find a replacement tank? If anyone knows where to get one, please let everyone know.
Pros: Ease of cleaning
Quiet
Doesn't burn the coffee
Ease of use
Cons: Tank will leak of grounds get in the valve
I bought this product because it was on clearance! After using it now for 6 months it's about as close to perfection as it gets. It's reliable, and easy to clean.
Who needs a clumsy glass pot? by ksmomof2 ,Jun 12 '05
Pros: No more glass carafe!
Automatic turnoff!
Coffee right into your cup! Cons: It is a little bulky.
Large size mugs are hard to fill.
I recently bought a Brewstation and I have to say I love it. I was tired of always having coffee spills on our kitchen counter from pouring coffee out of a glass carafe.
So I started looking around at the different coffee makers out on the market. That's when I noticed the Brewstation. The coffee stays inside the reservoir after being brewed instead of going into a glass carafe.
With the Brewstation you simply put your coffee cup up the machine and push against the dispenser and out comes coffee - right into your cup!
It has an automatic 2 hour turnoff also so you don't have to worry about leaving the coffee pot on all day when you leave.
I do have a couple of small problems with it though. One is the size- it is a little bulky. The other problem I've found with it is that it is hard to fill a larger size mug such as a travel mug.
Pros: Great coffee , easy to use keeps hot for hours. Cons: Seal on brewed tank prone to leakage.
I have had 2 brew stations. ST we broke the lid. This last one leaked after 6 months of use. However it was not leaking from the spout. It appears that the silver heat plate in the brewed tank has a seal that after repeated uses deteriorates and causes the leaking. It does not leak while hot (due to expansion) but after it cools down (contraction). HB has sent me my second tank to use. This is a design product flaw and they do need to remedy this. Call customer service for HB and complain. They'll either send you one for free if your under warranty or charge $5.95 for shipping and handling w/ free part (tank)

Great coffee - too many leaks! by nazman ,Aug 29 '06
Pros: Ease of use - no burn on Cons: Short working life & finding replacement parts
It makes great coffee, but finding necessary parts is next to impossible! I got it because my son had one and loved it, but that was before his started leaking. The small yellow gasket can be removed and cleaned (did this once), but after a while even that won't help.
This is my last Hamilton Beach product - next time, I'll use a company that actually supports its products! For the cost, I would expect it to last more than 6 months, and the company to carry parts!
Pros: easy to use, and clean Cons: liquid runs on counter/replacement parts impossible to find
I really like the over all Hamilton Beach Brew Station, the ease of use is great. I don't like the drip and not being able to fine a new coffee container. It is a little bulky, but I can live with that, but can't live with coffee all over my kitchen counter and floor. I loved it before it started leaking. It now will drip in the kitchen sink when I try to fill it with water. I am giving it an average rating, just because I really liked it when it worked correctly, but I would expect it to work more that 6 months for the 50.00 it cost! Because of this I also would not recommend it to a friend.
Brewstation (UH, I MEAN DRIPSTATION!!) by jd-ford-hd ,Apr 26 '07
Pros: Direct dispense to cup. Great timer. Keeps coffee hot. Cons: Does not keep coffee contained!
Great concept and worked OK for about 6 months. Timer and auto cut off worked flawlessly. Leave the room and come back to coffee dripping from the counter to the floor? Very poor quality valving for dispensing. Will someone ever design a coffeemaker that the fresh water can be poured in without splash on the counter top?!! Would not recommend this maker at all.
Hamilton Beach Brew Station by bjcolter1 ,Nov 03 '08
Pros: Coffee tastes great, and stays hot for a long time. Cons: Sometimes there are symbols that appear, and I don't understand what they mean.
I was given the Hamilton Beach Brew Station as a gift. It is the best coffee maker I have ever had. I would like to know what the symbols mean that appear on the screen.
Don't blame the coffee grounds by naw480 ,Jun 21 '06
Pros: No glass carafe, easy-to-dispense server -- no lifting heavy carafe for each cup Cons: It leaks! A design flaw for which refunds or replacements should be offered.
The Brew Station is a good idea -- no hard-to-pour carafe, nice handles on grounds basket and brew container, makes good coffee, and is easy to clean. I'm physically disabled so the easy dispense feature was a key selling point for me. However, the dripping coffee makes a mess that's almost worth putting up with given the appliance's good features, but not quite. I cleaned and scrubbed, soaked and prodded, but no coffee grounds were to be found. The leaking is constant and annoying. I have the Brew Station balanced over the lip of my sink to contain most of the mess, hardly a satisfactory solution and should not be necessary.
