Pros: Saves you from needing to carry a separate phone. Cons: Pricey, not as good as a good stand alone cell phone.
The store I deal with was advanced only one trial VisorPhone in advance of their anticipated order. Handspring is currently selling these directly through their web site and will, based on what I saw, have them in most dealers hands in time for the...

Pros: worldwide use, easy to use, nice messaging, integrates well Cons: audio only average, no pass-thru
I love it! It's cool, and it works!
The technical data is all available at www.handpring.com, so I won't touch on it too much. I'm going to talk about what it's like to USE the phone in practise, concentrating on UK, I have a Visor Platinum,...

Pros: Fun, handy, and a great accessory for the Handspring VisorPhone! Cons: Can be costly, quality of voice is not as good as can be.
Review: Handspring VisorPhone
----------------------------------
After catching sight of an advertisement of this interesting piece of hardware somewhere, I decided I had to have it! The VisorPhone is an interesting phone made by the...

Pros: Inexpensive or free, good service, includes web minutes, good software package, decent Phone/PDA combo, simple. Cons: PDA is cumbersome phone, drains PDA battery faster, web-connection too fickle, no choice in providers.
UPDATED 5/15/02
Why the VisorPhone?
When I got my Handspring Visor Deluxe PDA, I thought I would never use the Springboard expansion slot, but I did like the option. At that time (Dec '00) the Visor Phone was $400!

Pros: Carry a single device, have a single address book. Ease of use. Cons: GSM-only, inconsistent voice quality, earphone quality.
I have been using the Handspring VisorPhone exclusively as my mobile (and home) phone for months. I am very happy with it.
The up-side:
I had been using a very nice phone (Nokia 8860), and found the VisorPhone does everything it...

Pros: Best phone/PDA/modem combo out there, right now. Cons: Sound quality, position of ear piece.
Instead of carrying my Sprint cell phone with me and my Prism, I opted to go ahead and buy the VisorPhone. This way, I don't have to keep up with both, just one. You do add a bit of weight to your Prism by adding this springboard module, but its worth it...

Pros: Easy to use. Intergrates well with the Visor. Cons: Fairly expensive. Visor's screen protector can not be use with module installed.
Reading the title of my opinion might lead one to believe
that I'm not a big fan of the new HandSpring VisorPhone.
This could not be further from the truth. I am, in fact,
VERY pleased with my purchase and, like my Visor PDA,
I don't...

Pros: PDA Addressbook integration Cons: PDA battery life,; bulkiness; impractical in every day life
I have 6 months left on my Voicestream contract anf I am itching to get rid of my VP. This thing is just a chore to lug around. I purchased the sports case from HS which I can clip to my belt, but the unit feels bulky on my hip, especially if you have a...

Pros: one piece PDA/PHONE Cons: Expected features missing, cell service provider poor
Purchased to combine Palm VIIx and Sprint cell phone, which I currently carry.
The Handspring VISOR / VSIOR phone combination is neither WAP enabled nor does it support PALM VII style communication applications. To enable a simple function...

Pros: user interface and dialing Cons: size and acoustics
The Visorphone springboard module lets users turn the Visor PDA into a smart phone with lots of features. This is not cheap and the acoustics in the phone are not fabulous. However, this device has it's conveniences.
The phone module...

Pros: Works with any US GSM service, great texting, great utility with the handheld Cons: Harder to find now that they are obsolete
There is nothing like paying $20 - $30 for a product that in its prime cost hundreds. Well, as long as it still does the job, it's a bargain. At the end of the day, after all the specifications have been sifted through, are you still using the thing or ...

Pros: PDA and cellphone in one package Cons: Weak signal, low battery life, unstable hardware/software interface
I have been using the VisorPhone for six months and I have mixed feelings about it. I don't know if I should complain because it is a great deal. I got the VisorPhone for free with service activation, which was only $20. I'm paying $20/month for...

Pros: Phone works in Europe & US, call quality, only need to carry one box Cons: Voicestream, accidental dialing, bulky if you compare to a phone, fragile headset mechanics
I bought a Handspring Prism and Visor Phone about 9 months ago, principally so that I only needed to carry around one small electrical item rather than 2, even if it was a bit bulkier then either of the individual options. What really attracted me...

Pros: stores all your Outlook contacts, superior speed-dial. Cons: Large form factor, PDA has very small battery life.
Let me preface by saying that I am a computer guy but I am not a gadget-head. I could care less about having all these bells and whistles hanging from my belt. Having said that, I recently bought a HandSpring Visor Platinum and VisorPhone. Why? Because I...
