Pros: The features, out of this world sound reproduction, the sale price was a pleasant surprise. Cons: You already own speakers? You'll buy better ones for full advantage of this receiver's capabilities.
After doing quite a bit of research on this and several other AVRs my wife and I decided to purchase the H/K AVR320. The decision was made based on the features and capabilities of the unit and also in part on reviews such as Ben's. The reviews steered...
Pros: Inputs for almost everything, Great sound, Easy to use. Cons: Only 2 Component inputs, No Phono input.
I have had my AVR-320 for almost a year now. I don't like to review something until I have gotten use to it and know for sure it's capabilities. This unit was purchased from a major electronics chain as an out of the box unit so I got a discount for...
Pros: awesome unit, 55 watts more than enough for home theater Cons: none
Fry's had this unit on sale the day after Thanksgiving for $299. I had to stand in line for over three hours, but it was worth it. (I believe I got a new unfurbished unit, though there were boxes on sale that were tagged as factory refurbished units.)...
Pros: Great Sound, Various Inputs/Outputs, EZset function Cons: Remote is functional but not easy to use
I purchased this receiver to replace and older pioneer pro logic model about 8 months ago. I can't say enough good things about. The sound is awesome, the onscreen display is very easy to navigate, and it is expandable to 7.1. This receiver has numerous...
Pros: Ample power to handle loud passages of movies and music. Cons: For the price there are none that I can think of.
I own the AVR-320 and was very happy with it. I am moving on from a receiver to seperate components as a result of the difference this receiver has made to the sound of my music and movies. It is a powerful, high quality unit that did exactly what I asked of it. Highly recommended.
A year ago I bought... by sukru_dt3000 ,Mar 26 '02
A year ago I bought AVR-310 (this is not much different) and HK DVD player, and HATE IT. It is the most USER UNFRIENDLY system in the world. Remote control is a nightmare, and Zone II remote is worthless. It doesn't auto sense DTS DVDs. It has a great sound quality but not much power. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. If I was smart enough would but either Denon or Onkyo. Enough said
The same Harman's robust sound... by jarda_dt3000 ,Feb 18 '03
The same Harman's robust sound from the high current amplifiers excellent resolution. A CD doesn't sound digital but very clean and detailed. (Pleasure to listen).Probably thanks to 192kHz/24 bit D/A converter. Easy to use, even without remote.
I agree with Mickk. Everything... by indyjim_dt3000 ,Feb 14 '03
I agree with Mickk. Everything you'd want in a centerpiece for your A/V equipment. I assume the first reviewer had trouble hooking his up or something. I LOVE the multi-room setup. Can listen to ANY audio source in upstairs room, switched effortlessly with remote. Awesome sound, and the aesthetics are top drawer. This receiver/series stands alone amidst the 'lesser' of the popular Kenwood, Pioneer & Sony's out there. I rate it over the NEXT step up receivers from Denon & Onkyo as well. You won't be disappointed. Purchased for $400 (factory refurbished). WOOHOO @!!
I have no idea what... by mickk_dt3000 ,Dec 16 '02
I have no idea what the last reviewer is talking about... they must have made a lot of changes between the 310 and 320 because my 320 is awesome... Dont be fooled by the power rating this receiver will blow most 100W by 5 recievers away.
This HK is wonderful. I wish HK AVR320 will be offered in a mini term coarse over the spring break. There are many things that needs to be appreciated in this amplifier.
Even though it has only 55watts/channel, don't let that discourage you. Read all the instructions because this HK can blow up a 200watts speaker if don't know what you are doing.
Bought this when my Sherwood... by goovy_dt3000 ,Mar 30 '03
Bought this when my Sherwood Newcastle AVP-9080 bit the dust. I am using the 320 as a Pre-Amp/Processor in my system. This is an excellent unit. Much easier to use and set up. The remote is MUCH better than the Newcastle. I have a Sherwood Newcatle AM-9080 5-Chnl amp hooked up to the pre-outs of the AVR320. It has over 100 REAL Watts/Chnl. This combo sounds great with my Klipsch Speakers.
The On-screen menus are awesome and the unit is really nice. A great value and well worth checking out. I had my Newcastle AVP-9080 for a few years and I never figured out how to use the remote (IT SUCKS HUGE).. But the H/K was very easy...
