Good, fast out of the box Desktop PC...without a screen

by locksmiths , Feb 21 '06
Pros: Easy set up, fast. pretty blue power button lights up.
Cons: Not cheap, should have TV connection as standard for a "Media Center" PC
My cheap old PC blew up after 4 years so time to get something quickly as I was getting Web Withdrawal symptoms. I checked out BestBuy but ended up buying at Fry's the HP Pavilion a1330n. What hardware has it got? ========================= You ...

HP means high performance.

Pros: It's practically bullet-proof. The AMD 64 3800 plus is a screamer.
Cons: Haven't come across any yet.
If you don't like to fiddle, this is the one to get. Great features built-in and printed manuals! They've integrated all the applications you want in a media PC and provided your connections on the front panel. The media keyboard makes use a pleasure. Even MS Office Pro 2003 2-month free trial is there, as well as Works. I also like the silent operation and the sexy blue power light.

Pros: Excellent hardware, and software packages, Fast, Quiet, easy restore image on the hard disk.
Cons: Video not made for gaming but adequate. No TV Card.
I purchased this computer shortly after the New Year. It is by far one of the best systems on the market. Having a technical background I can say that this system comes with everything you need to get up and running within minutes. All you do is bring it home, take it out of the box, and plug it in and BAM. No glitches no hidden setup software just plain and simple. Truly Plug and Play. This system brings all the goodies you crave. Mine came with 1 gig of ram, 250 gigs Hard Disk an AMD3800 processor and XP Media Center included. Really fast machine. I have so far been able to copy over many of my recorded movies from my camcorder, create DVD quality movies, burn them to DVD’s and have my entire picture, mp3 and DVD collection on my system, and I still have lots of space available. I hear the graphics card is weak but I have not encountered any video problems. I do not use my PC for gaming but this can be easily cured by upgrading to a beefier video card.
